Lightness

Hurricane bypassed us, so no long run, but in test run. It was perfect. Filled oil & gas, and started 3rd pull. Idled for 5 minutes  then plugged in a 1500W heater. Engine picked up load seamlessly. 
Light enought to carry outside when needed, store inside when not

For use in power outages

Received generator approximately 5 days before it was scheduled to arrive.   Prepped it and it started on the first pull.   Planning on using it as secondary power source/emergency power for my travel trailer.   So far so good.   Comes with all necessary accessories required.   Fairly light weight and easy to move around.   Ran my 12000 BTU AC unit in my trailer no problem from a cold start.   So far very happy.

Generator Review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A friend told us about the MXR generator she uses for camping. We wee thinking about adding a generator for our camping. We researched the MXR and purchased it. When it arrived I got it set i up and got it running. I then connected it to our camper and let it run out a tank of gas. It did everything we expected. runs at acceptable noise level is light enough to be portable very happy with it.

Good Gen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The things I like it is that it is a well built unit.  What I do not like is a bad design. What I mean several things no DC connector, NO fuel shut off, so if you want to store the unit for more than a few weeks no easy way to run the gas out of the carb this will cause problems.   Especially when the own manual tell to to use 10% ethanol gas which is know to cause carb issues when it sits a long time that is why it should of have a fuel shut off to burn the gas off it the car.  PS I only run non ethanol gas in these type engines.  Also very poor layout  for changing oil compared to others, very easy for old oil when changing to drip into bottom of unit and not easy to clean up.  Also very small access to spark plug you MUST have very small hands to get boot off spark plug.

The unit is pretty quiet but as all these type of generators as load increases so will noise increase.  This could of been 5 stars but I think poor design.  Also all of these small unit give in my opinion very very poor break in protocol.    I did return for another brand much better designed.

This machine looks good but it failed on me after several uses.  Contacted manufacture and no answer.  Contacted third party seller no answer.  It comes with a 2 year warranty but they basically told me to fix the unit myself.
