It works quite well. It's not too huge, not too heavy, not too loud, has niceties like a fuel gauge, and has decent power. Not as much power as I'd expect based on the rating, but maybe my 50ft 10-gauge extension cord jerry rigged into the electrical panel had something to do with it. I had even worse power handling before I improved the connection. In the end it was able to handle my microwave plus toaster. It's also able to handle the central forced air gas furnace (240v). Could not handle the AC at all. It's not hard to overload in general, but it does decent, except for the AC. I'm happy enough with it, since it can run everything in the house except for the AC. Might improve with better wiring, but my guess is it'll never be able to handle this particular AC that clearly doesn't have soft start. I recommend this generator, since it's the only one in this form factor that I could find. Time will tell if it's reliable. It's also not CARB compliant, so I had to jump through crazy hoops and spend more money to get it to me in CA. More manufacturers need to start making this form factor!

Only option in this slim form factor

This did a superb job powering lights (600 feet worth), sound system, projector, and two coffee carafes for our outdoor wedding. Also surprisingly quiet for a 5000 watt generator. The only problem we had was the automatic CO shutdown, which wasn't really a problem with the unit itself, rather where we had it located: It was tucked in some bushes behind the barn where we held the wedding. The leaves of the bushes around/above it didn't allow the exhaust fumes to escape fast enough, and they built up enough around the generator that it would shut down due to the CO alarm. It took a while to figure out what was going on, because by the time we'd get there to see why it died, the fumes had cleared and it started back up instantly. But moving it to a slightly more open location fixed the issue.

The engine did pop a bit at first, but replacing the original cheapo plug with a higher-quality NGK one fixed most of that. I'd also recommend changing the oil after an hour or so of run-time, as there was some filings from the initial wear-in present in the crankcase after the first use.

Worked very well for price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't used it for an extended time.
Ran a test run and it worked perfectly.
I'm powering 4 circuits, water pump, furnace, refrigerator and office thru a manual transfer switch.

Nice product

Very light and quiet. Super satisfied so far...

Light weight and quiet...

Have only had two weeks. Not much to report. Did not come with oil, like some other generators. After initial setup, started right up. Ran well. Taking it out for first use this weekend, Aug.24. Fingers crossed.

5500/5000 Invertor Generator

Decent machine. Works well. No user manual. Searched the packaging for hours.

Great generator but no user manual.

It needs to be built better. It's very fragile screws fall off very easily. Plastic material breaks easily, but it runs very good.

Needs To Be Build With Better Materials
