I picked these pencils up on a whim. I thought they were really neat looking and wasn't too concerned if they would work well, but they are amazing!! They are smooth with acceptable levels of wax, but not so much that they leave an annoying level of shine. They blend beauitfully. The only reason this doesn't get a full 5 stars is due to the sharpeners on the end of the pencils not having a shavings holder and because the "lead" is soft they need to be sharpened regularly if you want a point. A minor complaint, but annoying none-the-less. I also don't think replacement "lead" is available after the extra "leads" are used. A pity.
