This set is okay, it kept my 4 -year old Thomas fan busy for about one hour, but to make it last a bit longer I guess you are expected to dish more $$ for extra rails or, perhaps, other MegaBlocks Thomas sets. This set does not offer too may configurations in which the quarry can be built, so for my son it was one of these toys that was abandoned fairly quickly. I wish it had more rails and blocks in the set so that children can let their creativity show, but unfortunately it doesn't. On the plus side, this toy is relatively portable and can be assembled within a couple minutes. I take it with us for long appointments where my son has to wait for a while, and it keeps him occupied during that time.
