I have had this for a year and 11 months and I have had no problems whatsoever. You do have to have induction type cookware. The burner share heat so if you need a high heat you can only use one burner at a time if you want to keep something warm while you cook something else you can use two burners. I replaced my stove in my snowbird mobile home In Florida, and I also use a convection microwave and I'm very happy with this combination. I highly recommend this cooktop the one thing I don't like about it is there is no on and off switch so I have it plugged into a circuit breaker extension cord so it has an on and off switch.

I do recommend the mega chef induction cooktop.

I had my doubts when I bought this item I was originally was going to get a electric cook top. The only problem is finding cookware that supports induction. Also smaller then 10 inch cookware isn't supported at least on my unit. Other then that it heats up instantly, very efficient and easy to clean.  I would recommend it to anyone on the go or people with a limited space.

Pleasantly surprised.

It fits in the small space that we have available and seems to be adequate for our needs. We are still learning how to fully utilize it.

Induction

It heats VERY fast and it seems to heat evenly as well.  If you follow the instructions closely the first time, start off at a lower than recommended temperature.  Both burners work very well simultaneously for normal cooking.  It lacks 5 stars only because it heated too fast.  But it performs as it is described and better than we expected.

An Ideal Choice for Home or RVing

I've had it about a week and so far it is doing well. I was surprised though that one induction pan I have that works perfectly fine on my True brand induction oven in my RV will NOT work on this induction cooktop...very odd. I guess this one has weaker induction capabilities?
One other thing I do not like about it is that there is always current running through it even when it is off so you must unplug it after each use to clean it. I have had a sparking problem every time I plug it in since it is in a constant "on" state so when you plug it in it is just like plugging in an appliance with the "on" button already pushed. I am going to get a surge protector with an on/off switch to plug this in to and that will eliminate having to plug it in and out of the outlet.

Decent for the Price, But it Has Quirks

Easy controls, very compact and attractive.  Works best with small pots and pans... we chose to use Copper Chef cookware (with built-in induction pad on the bottom).

Works great in a small kitchen.

MegaChef Portable Dual Induction Cooktop review

Setting up for Easter needed an extra dual induction cooktop . Was testing this out last night , once I plugged this in it immediately arcs. Now side is not working and scared to use the other sided.  Returning!

Buyer beware

Unfortunately, did not use until 5 months after purchase (kitchenette was being built) and then found out that left side of unit does not work. Customer service at 424-543-1628 was friendly but determined that they would not be able to help. I certainly will not consider this brand again.
