[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought they might get bored quick with this but they keep playing with it day after day! There are so many different combos of decorating the cake and arranging the toppings. Definitely would recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received this free sample of the Melissa and Doug Rainbow cake. It contained a lot more stuff than I was expecting. The product is bright and colorful and my son and daughter were immediately intrigued with it. They've both been playing with since we received it. If your kids love to play imaginary games like being a chef, or birthday parties, or mommy/daddy cooking at home then they'll love this product. There's multiple decoration options so they can create numerous cake designs too. It has two sections so two kids can easily play with it at the same time. Would definitely recommend this product.

He loved stacking the cake and Icing and seeing how big of a cake he could make! He knows mommy loves to bake so he felt like he was baking too! Great product no matter the gender!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter Jayliana (1y 3mo) loved this!! So did my son Justin (3y 6mo). They enjoyed that it came with tons of pieces (59) so they didn't get bored playing with it! The fact that it's reusable and can be decorated differently is awesome. I love that despite the age or gender, they both really liked this Melissa and Doug Rainbow Surprise Cake. I feel like this is definitely a toy I will be able to hang on too and be able to keep for my daughter as she grows. As time goes by she will learn about decorating and be able to play with it more in detail. I think Jayliana will enjoy playing with it for years honestly.

The velcro on the layers is wide enough that my 3-year-old could easily use it, but not so tough that it was hard to pull apart. My 6-year-old loved the decorations, nad matching the layers. Definitely adding this to our present list!

Fun for all ages

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my 2 year old really enjoys playing with the cake toy, my 3 year old was interested at first but not after the first day... the product is good in that it has a lot of pieces to play with but a few little things cause absolute chaos (probably more to do with my kid not the product)... the paper mat that the cake plate sits on ripped and the 2 cardboard "cakeboxes" got crushed within a day... a little tape calmed him down but with such a sturdy wooden product the paper doesn't make sense... besides that it's great.

My younger brother has autism and this helps him stay in one place to help him think and stress free . He enjoyed aswell .

They have shared it with their friends and made up many occasions to enjoy cake over the last few days since we've had it. It encourages them to play nicely together and take turns. The older one shows the younger one how the pieces work. We do have a similar Melissa & Doug cake that they play with often. This new product has a lot more color and options for decorating. They have mixed and matched, as well as made it similar to a "reveal cake". There are more available spaces to add the different decorations, as well as more variety of decorations for this cake. The original version always seemed primarily for birthdays. This product is a great way to explore colors and shapes. It is a useful tool for developing language and fine motor skills.

Bright, Colorful and Relatable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product is beautiful and high quality, but it just has way too many pieces to keep track of. I also worry that the velcro pieces (of which, most of these pieces are) would get stuck to furniture and clothing and cause snags. My child enjoyed the product for about 5 minutes but didn't engage in building it himself, he was far more interested in the destruction of the cake. It needs to come with better storage containers to hold all the pieces in one place. Given how little my kid engaged with it and just how much space it takes up, I wouldn't recommend it. But again, it is of the high quality you would expect from Melissa and Doug, the colors are beautiful and vibrant.
