Batteries

The grandkids love playing with flashlights, including these. They're easy for little ones to operate, durable, too. They've survived some 'drops'.

Nice gift

Adorable "bug" light. First one didn't work so I received a second in working order. However it didn't arrive in time for the Easter Bunny's visit. Sad for us, but the little light is the perfect buddy for my grandson when he sleeps over.

No need to fear the dark here!

These flashlights are cute, and the perfect size for little hands but they're not at bright as we'd hoped. They barely light up a decent sized spot on the wall even if it's close, just a dim circle. We'd hoped to use them outdoors to light our way, but they aren't strong enough for that so wouldn't recommend them for camping or the cottage.

Flash does not work. My Grand daughter opened it on Christmas morning and she can't play with it. So disappointing.

This should not be called a flashlight as there is almost no light visible. It was very disappointing because we bought the Trixie tent as well and knew that our granddaughter would love to shine her light inside the tent. We changed the batteries several times to see if that was the problem, but realized that there is no beam. You should not sell this product! It is below the standards of the other items that we have purchased from Melissa and Doug!!

I decided to try this despite the bad reviews, because I couldn't find anything else like it on the market. My intention was to install the batteries and make sure that it worked properly before giving it to my 3.5 year old niece for Christmas. I was going to return it if my experience was like most of the other reviewers and it didn't work correctly. First off, however, you find out on the packing slip that you can't return something to this company unless it's untouched in its original packaging. So much for that - I had to rip open the clamshell to get to the flashlight and its instructions for installing the batteries (to get to the battery compartment you have to remove a tiny screw and unlock/press a hard plastic tab while turning the lens cover). It took a great deal of strength to get the lens cover to turn at all past the locking tab, and it finally ground to a stop and WILL NOT unscrew any further. So I can't get the cover open to even try the batteries, and I can't return it because the clamshell is damaged. I am so angry that I now have a useless and defective item that I can't even return - so I just wasted that money. They should be ashamed to still sell this with with such poor quality workmanship. Where is their quality control, especially with such specific negative feedback? They didn't need to cut corners in assembly/materials just to make money on this. I would have paid twice as much for this item up front if it had actually worked as it is supposed to.
