really good quality nice black good size they're fun to build with the wood is really good quality lots of construction things that you can do and of course they're learning a lot when they're building it you know and they fall and sometimes they get angry but they're learning how to laugh at it when it fails

The Melissa and Doug products I have seen always seem juuuuust right! These blocks are wooden, not fake wood, not hollow, not plastic. They're like the sturdy ones you played with when you were a kid. The color assortment is great also. The blocks are fun to build with and to knock over! Great for all ages. When a child is able to build whatever they want or feel like building, the creativity becomes satisfying.

Blocks that last 24/7/365 and a lifetime!

My not quite 2 year old just loves these blocks - it was a Christmas gift.

He has learned all the colors - he shows the block and asks what the color is, if you say it wrong he corrects you. WOW!

The next step is learn ing the shapes - not quite ready for that yet.

Great buy. Instead of my kids fighting over blocks there's plenty to go around to build anything castles etc. Best part is you get alot for an affordable or even cheap price.

I love Melissa and Doug wooden toys. Qualities is always good. These are colorful wooden shapes. What more can you expect you know besides the price a little much everything was as good as you can get.

Classic toy! So many fun hours of play. I had to remove some of the smaller pieces when my child was young and still putting everything in their mouth. Very durable as this was a handed down toy from older cousins.

Classic toy!

Melissa and Doug

The colors of these blocks are vibrant! They are made of real wood and sanded smooth which is a must for little ones. I was surprised about the size of the blocks, I was expecting bigger. These are basic and will suffice. Love the quality but the size is lacking considering they are made for littles. Enclosed picture used a Pez dispenser for size reference.

Expected bigger blocks

These block are so versatile! My son will build anything from houses to towers, to tracks with them. They are sturdy and well sealed/painted. The only downfall we have is that they don't build the best on carpet since they can be a little slipper. It is best to build on a hard, flat surface if you are going to build a structure!

Versatile and Sturdy

We love Melisa and Doug toys. The only issue is my granddaughter could and would ( yes she is full of mischief) put the one piece in her mouth and run around with it there! Almost gave us a heart attack the first and only time she played with them all together. So I think the age limit on this toy should be higher or the smallest block needs to be bigger. The 4 youngest granddaughters love them. I would recommend taking the small block out for under 4 yrs of age or lower.

Take the smallest blocks out if under 4!

Love the blocks , the paint on them makes them considerably slippery though so your creations will fall a lot. Surely as they're used and worn down this will no longer be an issue

The blocks are so light weight that it's difficult to stack them. The finish on them is also very slippery so they slide and don't stay in place. Terrible for a toddler to try and build anything. Complete waste of money. Will be returning.

Melissa & Doug Wooden Building Blocks Set - 100 Blocks 100 solid wood smooth blocks in four colours and nine geometric shapes, approximately 1–2.25 inches, shown in a centered stacked view for stacking play, fine motor skill practice and shape recognition; also suitable as sorting counters for preschool lessons.
