Value For Money

Ideal for small tasks and young children.

Offers competitive pricing, but can be steep for some users.

Made with sturdy build and long-lasting components.

Melissa and Doug is a classic household brand that you can trust for their quality and this one is no different. We had a cheap one that broke within days and this one has lasted two years.

walmart.com

You can never go wrong with Melissa and Doug. The brand can be a little pricey, but this was very affordable and even lower than what it retails for on their website. The colors are bright and beautiful. It's also very sturdy, making it extremely durable, and the overall quality is amazing and worth the money.

Great buy!

Your wood products are always superior! My son has made great improvements because your products. I hope you're a good company.

I encourage all parents to enjoy M&D quality learning toys

Melissa and Doug

Great abacus for the price. Great quality wood and easy for little hard to use. The bright colors help kiddos to easily see the ones, tens, hundreds..etc. highly recommend!

Great product!

This is a school childhood memory for me. I dont know if to keep it at my home all let all the grandkids enjoy counting on it when they come over or get to the youngest. This is more of my want, Im going to keep it and use it as a Decorative piece.

Give to a grandchild or keep for me

This is sturdy and of course the kids like it.

Well Made

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wooden product might stand the test of time with the kids

Love the colors. Better than counting jellybeans. Plus each row is ten. It makes it easier to count 2 3 =5 1 4=

Loved her counting beads.

The abacus is sturdy and well-constructed. However, for OUR purposes we would have been happier if it had a wider base to provide more stability. We also think it would be a better learning tool if each row of beads had five beads in one color and five beads in a second color. We are using the abacus for our grown son who had a stroke. He is very slowly recovering but lost the ability to speak and read. He was formerly very number/math-friendly, and we hope the abacus will help with restoring some of that ability. He has shown distinct signs that he still retains some ability with numbers, and we want to enhance that. We realize our intended use diverges from the usual for kids, so take the critical comments with a grain of salt. Had we bought this for a child, we would probably have given it a five-star rating. I will also note that our son was pleased with all of us zinging beads across the wires... maybe not a numerical function, but still fun... and making him laugh is a reward in and of itself !

Good for kids; not QUITE what we needed for a different use

Melissa and Doug Wooden Abacus featuring a sturdy wooden frame with 10 rows of colourful wooden beads in red, blue, green, yellow, and white. Designed for counting and early math learning, suitable for children aged 3 and up.
