Technology has arrived to my front yard

It has a large LCD screen, a filter washer that keeps the timer running smoothly, easy touch buttons and a high flow valve. You can set the clock, water day, for how long or leave it on auto. Very easy to operate and works perfectly. Just set it and forget it technology. I really like this and the easy operation is amazing. I would recommend this to everyone for timesaving watering of your lawn. Sorry no photo, my son borrowed the water timer last week and has not returned it yet..:(

Hydrologic Digital Water Timer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my very first water timer, now I ask myself what took you so long. First things first you will need two double A batteries. I actually set the timer up in my home before taking it outside which didn't take too long to do. The Melnor timer can be set to start four individual times per day. I have mine set to start only once per day and have not had any problems at all, the timer has turned on the days I have it set for and the length of time. A couple of nice features are you can pause/skip if rain is in the forecast and you can manually set the time for how long you'd like it to run. The screen is easy to read even outside in the sun the numbers are big the features you need to see when setting it up are a good size. I did have a bit of trouble picking the days I want to water at first as I didn't highlight them just reread the directions and I was good to go. The timer itself seems to be well made and not a bit cheap. I have not experienced any leaks or drips from the faucet to the timer or from the timer to the hose.

Works like a charm

I found out the hard way that my front faucet was damaged when I couldn't get a tight connection from my hose or the timer. I initially thought the timer was the problem, but fortunately, I have another faucet in the back yard and the connection there is 100% leak free. I have been scaling back flower beds that the previous homeowner had gone a little overboard with, so I have areas that I've seeded that need daily water. I have a lot to tackle to move/replant and re-seed, so I am doing one section at a time with my Melnor sprinkler on a spike and the timer's one hose connection. Both the timer and sprinkler are good quality and perfect for my needs. You can get this timer with multiple water connections if you have multiple areas that need attention. This timer lets me cross off one more time consuming daily chore.

Time saver

The settings on this Timer are easy to use with a nice Digital read out, and if you're a high tech person like myself then this Timer is great you and your garden.

Good purpose

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had only ever used manual timers for watering my yard, I think they are great when it comes to saving water, I say that because I will sometimes go out and turn the water on to water the yard then go back inside and completely forget about it till it's been on for too long. That said, the melnor hydrologic digital water timer has worked wonders, it has a pretty big display screen so that you can really see what you are doing and what times you are setting. You can set it for more than 1 time unlike manual ones, you can set different times of day, different days of the week, etc. At first it's a little tricky. It requires AA batteries, it fits perfectly on any standard water hose, it's very well lined so when the water is on it doesn't leak out of anywhere. The best feature of a water timer is that you can go on about your day without worrying about having to turn off the water or wasting money when you do forget to turn it off. I haven't had any issues with it so far, I don't mess with it a lot, the time is set and I don't need to change it all the time.

Work better than a manual one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this product for over a year now, but only was able to use for one summer season last year. It worked great, we found that programming it was pretty self explanatory, but we did refer to the instructions to get it set on the timer we prefered. You can also purchase a separate rain sensor so that if the timer is set and you are not home, it won't come on and waste water. This was my first experience with a digital water timer and I was sold on how easy it was to work with and really a great tool to keep your lawn or garden watered. But it only worked for one summer. I brought this in over winter, and we have gotten it out and ready to go, and it no longer works. I popped on several websites to look for a solution, and apparently this is a pretty common issue. Customer service was unreachable. I cannot recommend this product, I do not think it is worth the money to only work for one summer - very disappointing!
