As I got older and the Florida heat seemed to affect me more, I got a little lazy---and brown grass appeared! Well, I tried this for free and what an absolutely marvelous invention. Basically, you program the times you want to water and voila, your yard is no longer brown. Very easy to use and I totally recommend this product. Take a break this summer!

What a good idea!

The digital screen and button design makes setting the clock and programming the timer almost self explanitory, however I recommend reading the instructions. This is a one zone water timer. You can choose days to water and days not to water. It also has four individual start times per day and you can easily skip watering when rain is in the forcast, by using the rain delay feature. Having a digital water timer is the way to go for most busy families. From keeping the grass green to watering the flower or vegetable garden. Also during drought or the dry season there can be regulations set by the city council or by the county or state reguarding how much water you can use or what days you can water. The Hydrologic Digital Water Timer can help control watering and avoid waste. I highly recommend this digital water timer for both indoor and outdoor gardening. I think this would be great for greenhouse or hydroponic watering systems, especially with the four individual start times per day. All in all a great timer that's easy to use.

One good feature is that you can set the timer to care for your lawn without having to do the labor yourself. It will make a great gift and I do recommend to family and friends.

Good purpose

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice size. Not overly bulky. Water useage is an issue in Marin county. Tge timer helps alleviate concerns as to when to water. After the fires last year gives a modicum of peace of mind.
Have it set for early morning and late afternoon. Goes off like clockwork. Very reliable.

Great timer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this timer for a while and I use it to water my backyard for 1 hour each day. For that purpose it has worked well. One issue I do have is that when you set the timer there is one button that goes forward and one button that goes backwards instead of having one button to change the hours and one button to change the minutes. This means if you want to change it from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. it takes a long time to do. I don't understand why companies don't just make one button for hours and one button for minutes when it comes to setting clocks? Also, where you connect the hose is only plastic and it doesn't seem that strong to me. However, it hasn't broken yet and it works as it's supposed to so I gave it 4 stars. Still, I would definitely not pull on the hose very strongly while it's connected.

You need a hose that covers distance you need. This will still need to be moved around if area is to large to cover. it will work great on small areas with right fixture. or even on a garden.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this product for over a year now, but only was able to use for one summer season last year. It worked great, we found that programming it was pretty self explanatory, but we did refer to the instructions to get it set on the timer we prefered. You can also purchase a separate rain sensor so that if the timer is set and you are not home, it won't come on and waste water. This was my first experience with a digital water timer and I was sold on how easy it was to work with and really a great tool to keep your lawn or garden watered. But it only worked for one summer. I brought this in over winter, and we have gotten it out and ready to go, and it no longer works. I popped on several websites to look for a solution, and apparently this is a pretty common issue. Customer service was unreachable. I cannot recommend this product, I do not think it is worth the money to only work for one summer - very disappointing!
