I'm not big on writing reviews, but.. here it goes. I bought this for my 4 yr old, and she absolutely loves it! Although there are many parts to it... I constructed this bed ALONE. Not sure why some said it took 3 people. I WOULD suggest putting aside 2-3 hours to construct it though. Conclusion: bed & futon are incredibly sturdy (I'm 6'3, 185 lbs... and I slept comfortably on the lower bunk). I would highly recommend this bed to anyone!

Bed turned out really nice! Built for my daughter and her friends.
Instructions were confusing and had to take things apart several times. If I had to do it again I would have read through the entire book before putting it together. The clips for the upper bed are impossible to put in by hand. I figured out if you put them in one side then use pliers to push in the other side it works easier. I also put plastic between the outer rail so the pliers wouldn't mark up metal. I built most of it alone but did need help holding things a few times. easier with two people.

Great Bed, Confusing Directions

This is a great bunk bed, it is very well made & sturdy! It comes in two boxes & there are a few extra bolts & such just in case. My only suggestion is to be very careful when putting it together, make sure every steel piece is turned the right way because the screws strip out really easily. We had to take two pieces apart & stripped the heads of the screws. The instructions are not very good, so really look at it before you tighten any of the screws down. Otherwise, its great! We have our 6 year old son on the top bunk & our 6 ft tall 16 year old son on the bottom bunk, with no wiggle or weight issues.

Sturdy!

I bought this bed for my teenage daughter. She loves this bed and doesn't want to be anywhere else besides sitting on the futon couch watching television or reading a book. My husband put the bed together in about 3-4 hours. The bed is sturdy and trendy. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

My teenage daughter loves this bed!!!

very pleased. had to quickly change my 7 yr olds room to accommodate her 23 year old sister for a bit and this is the perfect option. great for now and will grow with her into the teen years. *took my and my 23 year old 6 hours to assemble (no power tools). instructions were easy to read and all the parts where there! advise to purchase a high quality futon mattress- the $100 one from walmart is too thin/light and you can feel the bars through it. put a memory foam mattress pad on top for now but will be investing in a better mattress.

just what i wanted!

Bought this for 10-yr-old girl's room. Great for lounging, reading, etc. on the bottom and comfortable sleeping on top. Top bunk has enough headroom to the ceiling to be able to sit up. Does not come with mattress or futon mattress, but that is good because it allows you to choose your own style and firmness. Did not feel that instructions were hard to follow, just time-consuming to put together. Plastic clips on top bunk were the hardest part.

Great customer service - had a problem with some hardware and new parts were shipped next business day. They have an easy online form to fill out for replacement parts. Overall, it looks nice and is well constructed. We did bolt it to the wall with "L" brackets so it wouldn't sway when climbing the ladder.

Tween Girl Loves This Bed!

Quality of this bed is better than I expected. As in other reviews, the small plastic clips that go on the mattress support bars are difficult to put in, but the prpcess went faster using a flathead screwdriver to push the clips in - not that big of a deal. A few of the black plastic end caps on the large corner aupport bars were cracked when we opened the box, but that was from shipping - the boxes are quite heavy, naturally. Bed went together easily - I did it by myself over about 3 hours total. My daughter loves it and we are happy with the purchase - great price and we got free shipping - can't beat that!

So...I have 10 and 9 year old boys and thought this would be terrific for them:) it is EXCEPT there isn't an opening at the ladder on top? Kind of a pain to get in and out of..little scary coming down...also, took a little longer then expected to put together. Came in two boxes (which were very heavy) and pleased to say shipping was free! That was a plus! I advise taking everything out and sorting before hand..including nuts and bolts. I labeled them so I knew what went where so I didn't have to struggle with that while I was putting together. After 6 hours and a glass of wine (ok, a few), it was complete and very satisfied. I recommended this bed to my sister

Couple flaws..but, happy

The only thing that wasn't good about it was the fact that it didn't come with a futon mattress. The frame was easy to put together and very sturdy.

Terrible quality.  My daughter does not even want want to sleep on it. The whole thing shakes , its so wobbly. I spent extra getting the more expensive one and cant believe how poorly made this is. I wish I could send its back but its already put together.
