This is my second set of Microsoft LifeChat headphones. After 10+ years on the first set and still working I gave the old ones to my daughter and searched for another set. I thought sure Microsoft would have discontinued this product but I located them here and at a better price. I can watch movies/TV on my computer as hubby watches whatever on the TV, he controls TV remote. The headset is excellent blocking out sound with clear reception of what you want to hear.

All I can say is this one works good with no problems.  Had it for many years
and it never broke down.

Excellent set of Headphones.

I have only had the headphones for a short time, but the quality is great. I wear glasses and they do not hurt my head or ears after hours of wearing them. I love that the mute

Seems pretty well made.  I recommend it at the price.
>Many reviewers have criticized the tight fit.  While they are on the snug side, my 7 1/2 head was comfortable with the ear piece "wings" properly extended.  The plastic band across the top is not comfortable, but I found that a taping a small strip of foam to the center solved that problem.
>Sound quality is OK, but not designed for demanding music-lovers.  Equalizer helps.  
>Microphone is excellent for dictation, chat, etc.  Good sound cancellation and mic boom.

Hard to beat at the price

Sturdy but volume level could bd higher even at max volume

This headset is decent enough; has good sound quality, both in-going and outgoing.  The volume/mute control button, located a couple of feet below the headset, likes to get caught under the arm of my computer chair, darned near ripping the headset off my head at times...it would be nice if they could relocate this control to the headset itself.  The other thing to be cautious about, is over time, after repeated putting on and removal of the device from my head, one of the earpieces (usually the left one) tends to break off from the rest of the set--thus forcing either to use the seat as is, or purchase a new one (the extended warrant I purchased with the last one was totally useless).

Were it not for these two caveats, I would rate the headset slightly higher; but it qualifies in my mind as a weak 3 stars.

Decent Headset, With Caveats

... of these headphones. I'm the Director of IT and purchased them for the fit. They are extremely comfortable wearing for long durations of time, like in a call center. They sound awesome, both audibly and via microphone -- but that's it ... if the microphone works. After buying a stock of 10 of these, 6 have failed and I'm one of the few who are still fortunate to use one of these. I will be quite unhappy when my microphone also fails to operate. In effect, they're great headsets -- but headphones might be an optional experience.
