I had to get another software to replace XP. If you could still get the support from Microsoft, I would still have XP. Basically, I have no problems with the software. I hope that they continue to support Windows 7 for a long time. I am happy with the conversion.

I upgraded from XP to Win 7 because I don't like Win 8. IMHO Windows 7 is the best operating system so far. The install required only about 30 minutes. I installed onto a new hard drive. The installer found the drive and installed the system with almost no intervention required. I will be re-installing MSOffice 2003. I have heard that it is compatible.

Great operating system. Easy, quick install.

Hard to find Windows 7 upgrade after Microsoft would not support XP. Walmart has it.

Installed it today and the install was easier than I expected.

Love Windows 7

Finally upgraded my PC from XP to Win7, no issues. Installed this O/S on a 250GB SSD & it is very quiet & quick (quick booting as well).

Much better than Windows 8.1

Good price, genuine Microsoft - not counterfeit. Now for the one issue, it is OEM version. To install you must know how to create and use an autounattend.xml file. Not a big thing for a computer technician, but not something the average everyday user is familiar with.

Just wanted to correct the install, One reviewer says you must prepare an AutoInstall.XLM file.
This is incorrect, the system will prompt you through the install. Takes about an hour or more and you must be at your PC to fill in the Information. The "AutoInstall.xlm" is for Multi-installers on several systems or you don't want to be at the PC to Fill in the prompted Information. Anyone can Install it just follow the directions / prompts as they pop up on the screen. You can migrate from Windows Vista without a problem. However, If you are currently running XP, Then It will have to Wipe your hard drive clean. Meaning Nothing from your XP will be brought Forward. You will Lose all XP info and will have to re-install your programs. Make sure you have the Disc's and / or Key codes. Autoinstall.XLM can do a lot of things and it is a real time saver for computer Geeks. But It's not for Everyone.

I was extremely disappointed when I received an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version of this software (OEM versions do not receive support from Microsoft - the builder of the computer who installed this software is responsible for customer support).

Nothing was mentioned in this item's description that this is OEM software.

Windows 7 Professional

I received the DVD, and installed it. My main problem was that the activation code was printed in very tiny characters on a very small sticker. There were several instances of characters that could have been combinations of the letter "B" and/or the numeral "8". I had to use a powerful magnifying glass to read them, and still got at least one combination wrong. There was no way to tell which one(s) I misread. I had to keep changing Bs and 8s and resubmitting the entire 25 character string, Each time, the program slowly chewed them over, and told me the string was incorrect. I finally got it right, but you could have helped by making it more legible.

If you really are interested in helping your customers, look into that problem.

I should have read all the reviews before buying. Evidently Microsoft has stopped selling retail licenses for Win 7 Pro. Walmart, updated your descriptions please
