Received Windows 10 and it was a genuine windows with activation key.
Had to try to load it on a fresh computer a couple of times because I'd not changed a setting in the B550-F Asus motherboard. Changed BOOT Configuration from "Windows EUFI" to "OTHER" and everything loaded as it should.

this operating system is better than windows 8 It puts you into the original screen as the operating systems before windows 8 came out when you start up your computer. I got so I can upgrade from windows 8 since it works a lot better and it is a big improvement

It works excellent

on a ten year old desk top with vista. It was a good laptop for its time cause it does have system requirements. Shut down computer and turn back on and push esc to get to boot menu put in usb and install from there just follow instructions in computer. May install from regular windows if later version.

We had to update our computer from a 7 to a 10.  It was very easy to do and our computer is so much better

Overall this a good OS.  The start menu is back from it's hiatus in Windows 8 and the layout of the GUI is attractive enough. I am very impressed with how fast it runs.  I am running it on a Core 2 duo E8400 system with 8 gb ram and the everyday tasks are snappy and virtually instant.  

Of course there is a negative side to this product and that is the forced updates. Unlike Windows 7 and 8 you can no longer choose whether to install updates, they are mandatory.   Even worse is Windows now also forces driver updates. So if you're using a custom graphics driver for example, Windows may suddenly decide you need one of it's verified drivers instead. Of course you can simply reinstall your old driver afterward but I must say that is a bit of a pain..

Overall though this a good product, it could be great if a bit more control were offered to the end user, and such as it is I give it four out of five stars.

Surprisingly responsive even on older hardware.

So far so good. Really want to use the multiple virtual desktops feature ďcoming from nearly 10 years of running Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and other Linux dirivitives this is something that is familiar to me). However, it's not so clear on how to enable and use this feature without an internet search (something I've yet to do).

Installation came with a minor hiccup that may pose a serious issue for those with less experience. Being that I was transitioning from Ubuntu to Windows, my drive was littered with several partions, most being formatted ext4. Of course, windows needs NTFS, so when the time came, I deleted all partitions (I previously backed up important data) and attempted to create a new NTFS partition across the entire 500GB HDD. Windows however, refused to recognize this new partition. So instead, I had to take out my Ubuntu Live DVD, noted up, and discovered in the partition editor that windows was improperly creating the partition. Deleting and creating a new NTFS partition in Linux solved the problem and windows happily accepted the new partion at this point.

I do like the design of the start menu. It makes finding frequently used apps simple, and the customization is really handy. I'm still very much getting used to running windows after having run Linux almost exclusively for the last 5-10 years, so I'm not going to criticize my lack of knowledge of where some settings are hiding. However, I will knock a star off for the partioning issue. Someone without access or knowledge of Linux or alternative partioning tools may very well think that the HDD or the entire computer was dead at that point and wasted money on unnecessary hardware. Using another operating system to fix something the windows installer should have handled just isn't acceptable I'm my opinion.

Should have known based on the other poor reviews but yup, got conned. Box came with its side cut open and tapped closed. Not even trying to hide the fact that it was tampered with.

USB was not in the box. The box (all sealed in plastic) came empty w/o the USB. It only had the licence key but not the installation USB.
