It's awesome so far. I have to small female rats. They have been running around like crazy having a blast. I can't wait to get everything put in it. It was super Easy to put together I did it by myself. With no problems. All you have to do is follow the directions.

I ordered this cage for my two rats, and they are SO much happier than they've ever been! I love the spacing between the bars, and that there isn't a way they can chew their way out of the cage. I also love how sturdy the bars are, they keep their water bottle upright and steady, and they don't bend at all which is nice. The doors are easy to open and give you a lot of access, and that combined with the plastic bases which slide out, make cleaning superbly easy. But really, I'm mostly impressed with how much space it gives my girls without taking up a huge amount in my household. Seriously the best buy I've ever made cage-wise.

Sturdy, Spacious, and Easy to clean!

Beautiful, bigger than I expected, heavy duty,good quality, I dont think u could find a better quality critter cage.i love that I can add on levels as my rat family grows.

Beautiful rat home

My rats love this cage! So easy to put together. No tools needed. It's big and can be added onto,  which later we did and I could not be more happy. I researched all different cages and this cage was the best choice and it did not disappoint.

I love this cage! Easy to assemble. Also easy to disassemble if needed for cleaning or moving. Easy to clean. Great quality. Plenty of cage for the price.  Over all 10 out of 10 in my book.

Thoughts on CritterNation

At first I was pretty disappointed with having some issues, but after messing with it for a few days I was able to get everything fixed. The doors are still not even, but they close now and that's most important. It does it's job, but I definitely expected something a little better quality.

best cage for my mischief of rats and even with some slight rust exposure on the hinge its wonderful and i could manage assembly with little frustration by myself

wish i bought sooner

I was so excited to get this cage because it is the biggest I can find with full doors and it is what everyone in the rat community has. When I got it, the box was destroyed. Looks like it has been opened and taped several times on top of being thrown around and mishandled by FedEx. I understand that the shipper issues are separate, but I have seen so many other people complain about the damage caused to the cage when they receive it. At this point, the manufacturer should realize that packing several metal pieces into a snug box with minimal protection is not the best idea. About half the pieces in the box were covered in a thin plastic which did protect them for the most part, however, the bags were short and parts of the cage stuck out of the bag and were super scratched from rubbing against each other. Some other pieces had large scratches and gashes that must have happened before packing because of the location. One piece had blue paint that wouldn't come off, another piece had rust, and several pieces had bent bars or pegs. I only took about half the pieces out of the box and noticed all these problems. I couldn't accept it for the price. 

The design of the cage is great, and it could be a wonderful cage for rats or other small animals, but isn't worth the price if it is received damaged. Walmart won't let me upload photos, unfortunately.

Lots of damage and rust

item bent in multiple places, making it extremely hard to out together. parts unlabeled, luckily you can figure it out. "No tools required" had to use a mallet and hammer to bend pieces back into shape.

Not Worth waiting for.

Nothing about this is good, from the delivery to the cage itself. It's very obviously been used before. Not just like it came kinda scuffed up from the factory or something. Its paint is chipping, it's bent so far out of shape it won't even fit together properly, it's dirty(…hopefully it was dirt anyway) and sticky. Yeah. Sticky. With what, you ask? I don't know. And I'm sure I don't want to know. 
I scrubbed it for hours, then started putting it together and have now been trying to put it together for 4 more hours, and it refuses to fit. 
I've put six of these cages together before so I know what I'm doing. Sometimes they are tricky but something about this one isn't right, and it just won't fit. 

It's also incredibly….soft, somehow? It's like it's made of soapstone or something. All the others I've had in the past are made of metal. Not sure if Midwest is just going downhill in quality overall or if they put this batch of cages on sale because they knew something was wrong with them. 

But either way, this one is isn't worth the box it came in. I tried to get ahold of Midwest but haven't been able to reach anyone. Now I have a massive, 70lb hunk of scrap metal sitting in my living room with no way to use it or return it and I'm out $150. 

I used to tell EVERYONE to get this cage, but unless this is a very very one-off situation and gets fixed, I'm never dealing with them again or suggesting them to anyone else.
