I recently purchased the Midea 5,000 BTU Mechanical Window Air Conditioner, and I'm really impressed with its performance. It works really well i do have a small apartment not super small but I thought the air conditioner was not going to keep me cool all over my apartment it did I was very comfortable all summer very happy with it

Keeps over bedroom very cool so after a couple of hours most of the time we have to reduce the air throw because it's very strong. I would recommend this product. Keep your summer chill

Wonderful for bedroom

Works great, wasnt an easy set up due to my windows. Be prepared to get crafty if the windows have a lip to hold the screens in. Took about an hour or so. 

 Gave 4 stars because the sides arent the best quailty. Cut myself on the radiator trying to get it out of the box.

Works great.

Has been used for 16 hours only during some 34'C weather.  Works.  It is a physically small unit that easily fits into a smallish sash window.   The cool air it emits is not ice cold but well below room temperature.  I presume this means that the refrigerant isn't as stressed as some of the other unit's I've owned, so I expect longer life.  Will know in 4 years.

It works fine, but I shoudve just bought the automatic one with remote for a little bit more. This one seems to constantly run, switching back and forth between fan and cooling. The temperature is unknown as the dial just shows numbers such as 1,2,3, etc, and its only low and high fan or low and high cooling option settings.

Don't believe their website it is not quiet if you're sensitive to noise it is nowhere near as quiet as a refrigerator as midea states.. the dust filter will not come out it's stuck on something in the front and then it doesn't want to push back into place properly and sticks out a few millimeters 
the things for directing airflow rattle like crazy unless you put foam underneath them
 I am sending this back it's not worth the money if it was $100 or under yes but not for $140 plus tax.

Hard no

Unit started smelling weird after a while and my allergies started to worsen as well as a sinus infection. I also started to get a headache which I rarely do. Suspecting mold I opened up the unit and there was water pooling in the back! Hard to believe since it's been about 100F everyday for the past month and I live in a dry heat area. There's no drain for the water so it just sits there even with the unit tilted back. This appears to be a flawed design. I'm not sure how it hasn't been recalled . If I'm missing something someone let me know. I'm looking to just drill holes in the back/bottom for drainage but I see water in the front too so might have to just scrap it. Be careful out there folks.

Potential MOLD BOX !! Be careful!!!

I have a fairly small room %26 after about 2 months of use it no longer cools the room lower than 70 degrees. Especially at night, it just blows warm semi humid air.

Not worth it

I bought this AC in May of 2025 and installed in in August of 2025 and used it untill September of 2025. Ran it a few warm days in late May of 2026 and it was working very nicely...untill... it didnt; it has likely lost its freon and now just blows warm air. I have always had good luck with Midea Air Conditioners untill now.
