I like how I can remotely control it while away from the house to ensure that the home is cool before I arrive home, or to ensure my senior parents are comfortable.

Quiet, practical, and smart!

When considering the price point, the competitive advantage of Walmart is undeniable. After conducting some thorough online research and comparison, I made my decision to purchase the Midea air conditioner from Walmart. As a brand, Midea stands as one of the finest air conditioning manufacturers in mainland China, which speaks volumes about their quality and reliability.

Upon arrival, the product was professionally and securely packaged. I was pleasantly surprised to find additional accessories included - a considerate touch that I appreciated. The installation process was surprisingly straightforward. Having viewed an installation guide video online beforehand, I had a general idea of what to expect. However, it's important to note that the QR code provided in the packaging led to an APP tutorial, not the installation instructions for the air conditioner itself. But don't worry, a quick online search easily solved that issue.

The installation bracket was a breeze to set up, taking less than ten minutes. The positioning of the air conditioner was essentially pre-determined - simply hoist it up, adjust its front and back position to ensure normal window operation, and you're set! It's reassuring to know that the air conditioner is equipped with multiple safety measures to prevent toppling.

Once installed, the unit operates with a remarkable level of quietness. It's significantly more silent than traditional all-in-one window air conditioners. Coupled with the latest inverter technology, the compressor works smoother and quieter than older models. The cooling power is exceptional. To test its capabilities, I set the temperature to 16 degrees Celsius. The outcome was a noticeably cold breeze, with a rather powerful airflow.

Despite being a 10,000 BTU unit, it isn't overly heavy. It's manageable to move around and install even for a single person.

In summary, my experience with the Midea U Shape Smart Window Air Conditioner was nothing short of satisfying. It is a stellar product offering an excellent blend of functionality, efficiency, and ease of use - all at a highly competitive price point. An Exceptional Buy

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have had this for two summers. Works great and is super easy to install and remove. It's pretty quiet and I like the oscillating louvers to help spread cool air throughout the room. It's being used in a 12x20 master bedroom and has absolutely no problem cooling it down and keeping it that way. The remote is handy for controlling it from bed.

Awesome AC

Easy to use and program with remote or the phoneApp.  Due to this being an older 'century' house, a couple of them get removed every winter and put back in after spring. So far that has not been difficult to manage. In gneral, they provide EXCELLENT, RELIABLE performance!

It is now two years old and still working great.
It cools down my living room in less than 30 minutes and it is very quiet while doing so.
The fact that the compressor is on the outside and on the other side of the window pane really helps reduce noise.
I can easily watch television with this unit running on medium or low level, the highest setting is a little loud and would make hearing conversations difficult.

Quietly Effective

The U shaped unit is much quieter than traditional window air conditiIoners. It is complete with adjustable triangulated support brackets and solid foam that you cut to custom fit to fill the side gaps at the bottom when your double hung vertical sliding window is in the closed position. One of our Midea units is upstairs on the bedroom level, mounted in a window that only opens vertically to a little over 12”. This is one of the only window air conditioners we could find that fits in this limited opening. Our old window rattler poured condensation water outside during humid weather onto an upper deck so we needed large pans to collect the water. The Midea design does not seem to drip much, if any condensate. Quiet, relatively compact and energy efficient. For us it’s a win, win, win.

Let me tell you, I was so impressed with the quietness of this unit, that within a few weeks I sold both my master bedroom 8,000btu and my guestroom  5000btu (both toshiba) on facebook marketplace and replaced them with similar powered Midea U shaped units.
I can hear my TV now without blasting the volume, and my autistic son, can sleep cooler because the noise doesnt keep him awake.

You can throw away your earplugs.

Super Silent

Bought first unit in 2024, work great the first year and did not work the next year (get power to unit, but unit did not receive the power). Brought back under warranty in 2025 and got a new one. New one worked for the summer and go to use it in 2026 and will not turn on (again get power to unit, but unit died not receive the power)
