The radio is very easy to setup for your area. Fortunately, we haven't had any severe storms since we got it. So, I can't really say how well it works. But, it can be set for notifications for your specific area %26 the volume is adjustable so it can be heard at night.

Excellent weather radio. Covers all our counties. Can choose the part of the county after having a hurricane hit out house last year, honestly hope to never need another radio.

Works extremely well reception is amazing. I would recommend this for everyone. It keeps you safe and the Alerts work really well.

The best safety item to keep on hand

Bought this for my friend who lives in Florida where flooding, hurricanes and tornadoes can be an issue. We have one we use in Indiana where tornadoes and snowstorms are an issue. This has come in handy!

Great gift ...

This is a very complete warning device...maybe TOO complete. It will warn me about tsunamis in Ohio...OHIO? I'm very impressed with it. But be prepared - it took me 3 days to program it, and I still get alerted at 3am for volcano warnings. You can get a full nights sleep with this radio, and not be alarmed about lava flows, etc.

Sleep in peace, Midland will watch the weather

It works. The only stupid thing is that if u hit it too or shake it too hard when the wire is disconnected, the radio will cease to function  because the batteries are dislodge. then u will be without lifesaving information and die in a tornado

Good if you don’t shake too muxh

Midland has always been a reliable brand but something has changed with the cable. it works great on battery until you plug it in then the static interferes with the reception. we tried 2 different units but the result was the same.

Nothing but static which previous one we bought did same thing, with exception the previous worked for 3 days before stopped working. These were bought to replace a Midland we had for years that worked until it stopped working. Going to buy a non-Midland brand and have one in mind after talking with friends and relatives that ended up having to do the same thing after their new Midland’s were also defective.
Buyer beware!!
