This product, Mielle Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Styling Gel, is not the easiest to find at a great price. Not only did Walmart have it in stock, but it was priced at the lowest I could find online (absolutely no price gouging) and in the quantity I needed. I was super excited!!

This gel is clear and has a thicker consistency.  The first day I used this, I applied it in sections using my fingers and then diffused. My curls were less defined than usual and the gel seemed to weigh them down and pull them out a little.  The day was windy and the curls did not hold up well. Second time I used it I applied it in sections and used a brush to add tension(think curling ribbon) and then scrunched and diffused. The curls turned out beautifully defined and I am on day 2. Both days after diffusing the curls had a caste but were not crunchy.  I used an oil to break the cast which brought out soft bouncy curls. Overall on a windy or rainy day I will use a stronger gel but on an average day I am pleased with my results and will continue to use. I have 3C shoulder length curls for reference.

My favorite gel for natural hair twist. Doesn't flake or get super hard. It has a nice hold without the stiffness.

Good Product

My all-time favorite hair gel for my fine 3c curl pattern. Zero flaking and flexible. I spray my hair with water when I take out my style and this gel will not leave any nasty residue at all, and you can just reapply the next day. Nice smell, not too strong. Highly recommend if you're looking for an everyday gel that doesn't harm your curls.

This smells like your grandmas butt who's been neglected in the nursing home and has had her old person perfume sprayed on her to try and cover up the smell.  Did not hep with moisturizing my curls. Maybe if used on a regular basis but I couldn't tolerate the scent.
