bought the saw 5-20-18 as of mid October 2018 it had burned up one of the brushes, the brush retention cap and the brush shaft.  had to go to my other shop for my 20 year old black and decker to finish the job.  I used to think Milwaukee was a great brand, but no more.

Milwaukee replaced the 6180 (heavy cast base) with this lightweight flimsy base, resulting in a more jagged cut as the workpiece flexes it.  
My Milwaukee of 25 years ago are all still running fine, but I'm not going to keep this one long enough to find out.

cheap low quality piece of junk.
wont last a fraction of the use i got from the two previous models.
have preferred to use milwaukee tools for decades.
i am assuming milwaukee has stepped off the bridge for professional tools.

The saw made over 1000 cuts through 3/16" mild steel tube with no problem.  Accurate, powerful, and completely resistant to numbskulls who don't know how to take care of tools.

this DID NOT even last 5 cuts, very disappointed in the quality of this saw. Pretty disappointing when you have been buying quality Milwaukee tools for years and then receive this worthless thing!

NO WAY

The brushes in this grinder lasted less than 1 year,threads on hold down clamp stripped out with normal use aswell

Lasted 1 year

I have no problem cutting tubing with this saw.  The hold down clamp works fine although the zero degrees setting is a little off, and it has to be set with a square.  I wish the degree settings would be easier to change and tighten since the provided wrench and nut is a little slow and a bit of a p.i.a.  The blade flexed a time or two and hit the edge of the base taking off a little of the side of the slot, but it cuts true most of the time.  I think the saw has plenty of power for its intended purpose.  It's a lot better than using a torch to cut everything!

So far handles everything I expected it to

Bought the 6177-20 despite some of the negative reviews I've read. Used it tonight to shorten some hardened steel grader blade cutting edges measuring 5/8" thick, and 5" wide for a project. Granted, it's not what this machine is designed to cut, but slow and steady is an absolute must when cutting hardened steel. The machine handled it like a champ, it ran a total of 3 hours almost continuously on its maiden run, and only used a little over a half inch of the included abrasive wheel, which was the real surprise. I did pop the breaker a few times giving the machine a little too much force, but all in all, extremely pleased with what it's accomplished. As for the missing foot I've read about, it's designed that way to keep that foot from melting due to sparks/ hot metal being directed into that area. Just remember SLOW AND STEADY, it's not the same as cutting wood

Absolutely would buy again if I ever needed to.

Slow and steady wins the race with this one,  definitely can't hot rod it like you could the older models but gets the job done without burning through batteries like the Fuel M18 battery operated one (which is now collecting dust on the shelf)
