This is a very nice set for the Minecraft enthusiast, and it would make an excellent gift. Minecraft players who are just starting out will learn a whole lot from these books. It is a collection of four handbooks (which can also be purchased individually); each handbook discusses a separate topic of gameplay - Essentials, Construction, Redstone, and Combat.

The books are compiled from an amalgam of sources - the author (of course), the Minecraft creator and developers, and expert players within the community.

These handbooks are quite small (only about 80 pages each) and are by no means comprehensive - so if you need help you'll likely still want to look online for tutorials and use YouTube gameplay demos, etc. But most people will find having the books on hand to be helpful; and they are available for an affordable price.

ESSENTIAL HANDBOOK:
This book is best for new players looking to get started. It covers all the basics of gameplay.
- History of Minecraft
- Creative vs Survival mode
- Technical details
- Controls for PC/Mac, XBOX, and Pocket Edition
- Topics such as Inventory, Weapons, Tools, Shelter, Food, etc.
- A guide to mining rare elements

CONSTRUCTION HANDBOOK:
This book is for those who want ideas for building something great. The build projects in the book supply you with a materials list and some tips to get you started. Keep in mind that many of the inspiring designs included in the book will require some experience with Minecraft; also, it's much easier to build impressive structure in creative mode because you have access to unlimited resources.
