The Minwax wood filler works wonderfully on filling up carpenter B holes, which is what I wanted it for. I'm sure whatever else we use it for. It will be just as good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I still have one that I purchased many years ago.  Therefore, I know this squeeze tube of Minwax ********* Stainable Wood Filler, 6 oz, (1 Piece, 1 Pack) is going to work out to fill in any cracks in any wood column that I have in/on my parent's home's front porch.  Orale pues, Walmart!

Bought this for a quick repair on our wood flooring, sanded the rough texture and added some wood stain and looks great!

It works well!

It dries very hard, but I use pine for all my projects, and this is a little darker than pine, and a little rougher sanded than my pine. It works very well, though, and is super easy to use. I really like that it holds up super well when set.

Everybody needs a filler some time.

Smaller quantity is easier to use and apply

Excellent item

I used this to fill in the gap in a newly installed butcher block counter top. It dried out/separated after about two years. When I went to use the tube again, it was also dried out. I bought it again since it worked well and I liked the color and texture. Unfortunately it was not a long term solution in my experience but I don't mind reapplying. I live in Colorado where humidity is low so that could have been a factor.

Satisfied overall

Unfortunately when I applied the stain it became darker in appearance. It does not blend with the color of your stain. It will leave the area darker where ever you applied it. I had no choice but to work around it by adding another stain that would blend a little lighter around the edges...I had to create a natural wood knot. Didn't want to go in that direction, but this filler was not willing to work with me.

Filler will turn your stain DARKER.

I followed the directions and the repair looked really nice until I tried to stain it.  I waited additional dry time, stained the repair with Minwax stain and the stained area turned off white (like color of filler). I thought maybe the stain was absorbed and needed an additional coat, but after 5 additional coats and a lot of wasted time, the repaired area still looks off white.  Now not sure what to do. I have a repair that I can't get stained.
