My Dad and I , did a lot of restore works, of our old Wood hand Crafts . Used Teak Oil and Tung Oil . One is a 40 yr old Spice Rack , which my Mom really used , to overflow !

I just finished coating a large mahogany plant stand I built for my wife. I followed the instructions to the T. Before brushing on the second coat I noticed it was pretty funny looking. (Like others commented above). I continued on with the second coat. I started to attempt to wipe off excess oil, but it was pulling lint of the shop rags, and not much was being removed. 

My solution: I grabbed some paint thinner, soaking the rag, and then continued to wipe down the entire piece. All said and done, the paint thinner soaked rag stripped the excess teak oil off, and I was left with the desired finish. It has yet to dried, being that I just finished. So we shall see.
Hope this helps others that have issues.
I am a carpenter by trade, have experience with several different types of finish, though I have not used teak oil (of any brand) before.
I bought it at a big box store, earlier in the day. Maybe it was a storage issue on their part.

That said. The thinner soaked rag saved me a lot of frustration.  I would have trashed the project, rather than trying to scrape off a gummy mess.

Like others, I followed the instructions

I did not like the finish. I applied per instructions and it ended up looking like I had put varnish on it. I asked the manufacturer a question and they gave me a lame answer and then shut down the conversation so that I could not discuss further. You try the chat and you get this virtual assistant which is totally useless.  I will not be useing this on the rest of my furniture and hope that what I did apply will eventually wear off.  Not happy about this at all.

poor product and service

This stuff is terrible.  Thick and sticky - is doesn't absorb.  It left a thick tacky coat on everything.  This is very different than the other major brand teak oil - which absorbs great.  If you have this problem, I wiped my whole table down with mineral spirits and that really helped.

Sticky and Doesn't Absorb

I purchased this teak oil when I could not get the Watco teak oil that I have used for many years on my wooden porch rockers. This product was not at all like the other.
This Minwax teak oil created a sticky, gooey, glossy finish rather than an oil finish. Now I am trying to get this stuff off of my rocker and not having any good time with that. I am using mineral spirits but it takes a lot of time and elbow grease to do only a small area.

Terrible Results

Although the can says "Teak Oil" it is not.  It is some kind of varnish calling for two heavy coats and wipe dry.  You can not wipe your wood dry because the varnish immediately becomes a sticky mess.  The best you can do is remove the excess varnish with a rag and wait for days for the remaining varnish to dry.  What a mess.  I have used Minwax products for years with great results - not this time.

Not Teak Oil

This garbage ruined my teak table! It is extremely misleading to call this product "Teak Oil". It left a glossy, hard, hideous finish that looks like someone slapped a cheap polyurethane on it.  The photo doesn't even do justice to how awful the finish is. It looks like it is soaking wet a week later! Now I have to figure out the best way to get this off my very expensive 10 foot teak table without causing even more harm to it. Shame on Minwax for marketing this junk as "Teak Oil'!

DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!

I, too, assumed that this was teak oil. After over 100 hours of lovingly building a custom walnut vanity, I applied this product as directed and destroyed it. It absorbed unevenly and on the denser grain, left a tacky glossy sheen. My only option now is to sand it all off and try again, but my desired natural oiled finish is gone for good. Thanks to Minwax, I have many hours of painstaking labor ahead trying to salvage this piece. Minwax should take this product off the market, or be honest about what it is - a varnish, and not a very good one at that.

Devastated

I don't know what this crap is but it is definitely not Teak Oil. It doesn't smell like it, look like it or feel like it.... and it certainly doesn't give the results of Teak Oil.  It is actually more like a Polyurethane finish. It smells like Poly, is sticky and tacky feeling, doesn't penetrate the wood particularly well and worst of all, it looks like a cheap Poly finish. 
The people who I work for paid thousands for the Teak Furniture and I feel that I've screwed it up for them. I would seriously consider the product as falsely advertised. I may well have to try to sand this garbage off and try again but now I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to get the desired finish.
I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am with this product. Please do not buy this product as "Teak Oil"..... It is not Teak Oil. Look for something that says Pure Teak Oil or words to that effect. If possible smell and feel the product first. It shouldn't smell too much and should have a feel and consistency like baby oil.

This is NOT Teak Oil!!!!

This is the worst excuse for teak oil ever!  It borders on mis labeling.  I have used teak oil many times with great results. Real teak oil penetrates the wood leaving a beautiful luster not the high gloss finish this junk left.  I am in the process of attempting to sand it off my beautiful teak table in my gazebo.  WHAT IS THIS STUFF??
