Product DescriptionKeep interior wood projects looking beautiful with Minwax Polyurethane Wood Finish. This oil-based clear sealer protective coating protects and adds long-lasting beauty to woodwork, furniture, doors, cabinets and floors. The clear top coat is one of the most durable coatings for wood protection against scratches, spills and more. It can be used on both finished and unfinished wood projects, and is available in a variety of sheens. The fast-drying formula allows for quick recoats in 4-6 hours. Application Directions:1. Surface must be dry and free of old finishes in poor condition, paint, wax, grease, polish, dirt or other foreign matter.2. Sand to obtain a smooth uniform surface. Remove all dust with a cloth dampened with mineral spirits.3. If desired, apply Minwax stain to unfinished wood surfaces. Follow directions for application and dry times.4. Stir Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane before and during use to eliminate settling on the bottom of the can. Stir to rotate the product from the bottom to the top of the can. NEVER SHAKE.5. Apply a THIN coat of Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane using a high-quality natural or foam brush.6. For floor projects, use a square buff orbital or disk-type sander with 220 grit sandpaper or the equivalent grit pad or screen (specifically designed for sanding between coats). Do not use a belt or drum-type sander for sanding between coats. Follow the sander manufacturer’s directions for your type of project.7.Apply second coat. Great product easy to apply, sand repeat. Follow the directions on the can you won't go wrong. I have watched videos not always a good source. The manufacturer won't steal you wrong. Toll free line for support if you have any questions. 
I covered a painted cabinet top are used between my washer and dryer. I want smooth durable waterproof covering. That's exactly what I have using the Minwax fast drying polyurethane. I use 220 sandpaper between each coat and I used 400 grit sandpaper at the end. Its as smooth ss b baby's butt as the saying goes

Minwax polyurethane is a nice product. The ease of applying with a brush to obtain that gloss protection is great for wood projects. Whether your craft is new or repolishing an old project, this is a must to your household. Kid safe, ( parents assist of course), drying time is  determined by application thickness, and the smell is that of polyurethane products. Price adequate

This poly does a very good job. Dries quick depending on the project. Smaller project quick, large will take little longer. Nice and smooth texture. Satin brings out the texture on the project.

Great product that covers wood well. The brush I used was  a foam brush. I applied it on a pine that was already treated with stain and pre-stain. Softened the color to blend everything, since there is a slight yellow hue.

Perfect finish! Not super shiny, nor flat matte, just right for table top! Not a wet look, just a “just cleaned” nice finish especially for farmhouse look.

Minwax Polyurethane Quick Dry is a great product. It doesn't create the bubbles upon application that other polys do.  The bubbles it does make are very tiny and they disappear.  You will get a beautiful finish.

The Minwax is a VERY good product. I used it to put a shiny gloss on a wooden glider that sits on my front porch. Despite the rain and other weather challenges, the glider remains shiny.

Product Review: Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane (Clear Satin Finish)

I recently used a can on a refinished oak coffee table, and I'm genuinely impressed with the results. The consistency was ideal—smooth and easy to apply without being overly thick. I used a high-quality synthetic brush, and it leveled out beautifully with very few bubbles or streaks. Dry time was quick, allowing me to apply multiple coats in a single day, which is a huge time-saver for any home project.

The satin finish gives the wood a soft, natural-looking sheen that enhances the grain without being too glossy. After three coats, the finish feels durable and smooth to the touch. It has provided excellent protection against water rings and scratches so far, which is crucial for a piece that sees daily use.

The only downside is the strong odor during application, typical of oil-based polyurethanes. I recommend working in a well-ventilated space and wearing a mask if possible. Cleanup with mineral spirits was manageable, though a bit tedious.

Overall, this polyurethane is a reliable, professional-grade product at a reasonable price. If you want a beautiful, long-lasting finish that truly brings out the richness of the wood, this product won't disappoint.

I've used this type of finish over the years and it's always works great. But if you want a faster setting finish use the water based.

Ordered satin, can said satin, but now that it's dried it looks high gloss!  Looks wetter than when I applied it!  Will be returning.
