This product is the best MINWAX has ever formulated. But it seems they are out of stock and just substitute without any approval. This makes the Walmart process very aggravating. Plus my projects get put om hold.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stuff is really great -- it made our old dinette table look like new. Minwax has a helpful video on how to apply it. The one edit I'd make to the video is that you're likely to need two coats instead of one. After I applied one coat I was disappointed with the way the table looked, but adding the second coat made a spectacular difference.

I have been using Wipe On Poly for over 10 years for finishing a variety of rifle stocks - walnut (black, euro, Claro), maple, and laminated 1/16 inch stained birch. Some of my stocks are 13 years old and have been subjected to hard use, like dust, water, and handling under hot to sub freezing temps. The wood still looks good despite years of use! The first coat applied to a porous wood like Claro walnut usually takes 8-10 hours to cure and successive coats applied in 4 hour intervals sanding with 330-400 grit between up to 8-10 coats. Works great! Looks Great! Happy!

I purchased this product to finish my gun stock after considering many ways of finishing the product. BLO, Antique Oil Minwax, Poly, Bar Top, ETC, I ended up staining the birch wood with 231 gunstock oil base 3 times. Then mixing 50/50 gunstock oil stain with this product as a wipe on finish twice letting them completely dry, Then 3 coats of straight wipe on poly. Very happy with the results!

Great Product!

I have used several finishing products for my projects. I had used wipe on poly before, but used thicker coats. This resulted in undesirable results thin coats and maintaining a clean surface in each application, gets a perfect finish with little to no sanding.

Great finish for instruments

Just finished a vanity top and decided to use the wipe-on poly.  Applied two coats, sanding with 220 grit between coats and the finish is FANTASTIC.  I've used polyurethane applying it with a brush but with the results I got with the wipe-on poly, I'm using the wipe-on for future projects.

Great Results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Minwax Wipe-On Poly is super quick to use. I used on some furniture to help protect   and it dried quickly. Just with one coat I noticed a difference. Some objects might need 2 to 3 coats, however most of the things I used it on took 2 at the most. The finish is beautiful a clear gloss that lets the beauty of the wood come through. I used it on an old table that needed a new look. It made the table stand out and I remembered why I loved it in the first place. I love that its comes in a container that is sealable and you can put it on your shelf until next time.

Very easy to use!

I have been using this product for a number of years, and have always been delighted with the end results. Numerous compliments as to the finish of my projects. In total I have been using Minwax products for about 15 years, and have yet to be disappointed.

Ease of use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I take woodshop classes at my high school, and I am currently in my senior year and in the highest class for wood. I would not think of any other brand than Minwax for stains or sealants. I used the wipe-on poly for a CNC cut project, and I did not have time to do the regular application process of the brush-on poly that we usually use. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy the application process was, and how it was very easy to get a good coat by buffing it into the wood. I also appreciate that it helped deepen and enrich the colors, similar to how mineral oil would, which is probably attributed to the fact that you can really buff the product into the wood. I was very satisfied with the product, and I would definitely use this again on any smaller projects that I want to have the buffed on look, and that I both need done fast and with ease. I use Minwax products for all of my personal projects too, and i would highley recommend these to my friends.

Easy Application, leaves a nice finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a novice DYI'er, this Wipe on poly from Minwax is great!. This is so easy to apply. I put on a pair of gloves, cut up hubby's old t-shirt and got to work. This product dries quickly. No runs! No smell, easy to clean up and a good looking clear finish.
