i bought this a couple weeks ago and all i have to say is i should have bought it when it was first available.i have not had any problems with any kind of bugs or odor .more convieniant  .you put garbage  in one side and compost is right there on other side . just grab handle on side to take to take out to green bin .

I love this step can! I use it in my office and it saves space with a recycle and garbage bin built into one unit. I highly recommend this product. It is very efficient and practical. A great buy!

Overall I really like the idea of a garbage can and recycle bin side by side. I ordered it in hopes it might fit a specific sized area, and it was close...but it would have helped to have the measurements of this item on line. 
Height 23 3/4” (outer edge 23” center close to 24”)
Length/width 14 1/2” 
Depth 11 1/4” (lid/hinge make it about 13 3/4”)
Also though it says “step can” you must manually open the lid as there is no foot peddle to open it.

Size of garbage can wasn't in product description

It's perfect for the kitchen. The bins are narrow and have one build in handle to easily pull it out.  They don't hold a huge amount, but that's what keeps them thin.
P.s. do not use the step opener if both bins are not inside or the lid will come off the hinge.

Handy dual purpose bin

The product is great. But why was I charged for Doordash an additional $10? That was not clear in the receipt charges.

I purchased 2 of these, one for our home and one for our basement. Initially I thought the design was genius and fit our family needs allowing us to recycle more and looked good in the kitchen. However within a couple of weeks of use, the top cover came off of one of them as the hinge in the back separated. I contacted Walmart for a refund/exchange and was told I would be contacted by the vendor for a return label. I waited over a month and was not contacted. I Called Walmart again and they informed me they would escalate the return and I would be contacted soon. 3 weeks later and I still haven't heard back. I was looking forward to this purchase and had high hopes. Both bind have now broken in the same spot. For $40 for a plastic garbage can, I would have expected better quality.

Poor make

The quality of the garbage leaves something to be desired. After not even a week of use, the lid remained in my hands... so my money will go straight to the trash! Do not recommend at all.

quality has left the building ,this will last as long as you dont put anything over 2 lbs into it i can't believe the handles on the two inside pails not not stonger than a plastic straw

This garbage can is great but I will no longer be ordering larger items from Walmart online. It arrived not in a box and completely dirty, scratched and damaged.
