I've had this pair for over 2 years now and have used many pro models for 20+ years. These are excellent and provide comfort for hours and consistent monitoring sound that is balanced and true.

Excellent studio monitoring headphones

These headphones are very comfortable and I can wear them for hours without them hurting my ears. They also have very good sound. They are clear, not muddy at all from the bass to the highs.
They do put out more bass than most headphones at this price range, which I like. If you don't want this much bass just re-adjust your equalizer to get the balance you like. I highly recommend these headphones that can't afford better ones a much higher prices

Great Headphones for the price!

I think these headphones are an excellent value for the price I don?t think you can get much better. However, I did replace the air pads with some brain waves and they?re the most comfortable headphones I?ve ever put on my head and they sound amazing for The price.

Excellent value for the price

These headphones surprised me. They have outstanding sound. They are very comfortable. I wore them the first time for a couple of hours and I could forget I had them on. Also I never found myself re-positioning them. The sound stage was expansive and the reproduction spot on. I think anyone will be pleased if they purchase these.

Headphones you will love!

Ok, hear me out (hah, get it?). I'm always on the hunt for great, low cost, high end audio gear. With that in mind, these cans are great. They sound fantastic. Good sound stage, crisp, clean, balanced, and built terribly. 

Ok - but wait. The quality of the materials are fine! The headband is thin flexible metal, and some decent pleather. For this price, you cannot go wrong, as they're basically disposable. As I continue listening, they're slowly becoming one of my favourite pairs of cans... Definitely give them a try. If you hate them, give them to someone you hate.

Built Cheap, Sound Great

Have wanted to try these out for a while, but since I'm cheap, I waited for a free shipping/sale offer to buy.   I like them so much that I wish I hadn't waited.  These cans sounded great right out of the box.  Of all the different headphones I've tried, these have required less eq than any to suit to my taste.  The MP20 earbuds sounded better, but not by much.  The highs of the MP20s are cleaner/crisper.  

The cups are large enough to completely encompass my ear, so they're very comfortable for long sessions.  

While listening to some bass heavy rock, I actually had to take them off because I thought I had left my loudspeakers on.

Cons:  Haven't had them long so I haven't found any.  I think if you have a smaller head, these may be a bit loose.  Not an issue on my big melon.  

I don't know whose ears are in charge of choosing models/designs for MP, but they are doing a great job IMHO.  Hopefully, one day I will get to try some of the high end models, but for now the cheap ones will do.

Great Headphones for a great price

A great gateway into the audiophile hobby, the Retros have a fun, V-shaped sound with punchy bass, solid noise isolation, and a comfortable build. You really can't get better bang for your buck.

My only dislikes are the cord (which is not detachable, a detachable cord would be nice!) and the earpads, which are far too flat for my tastes. But replacement earpads are easy to come by, so I don't find it enough of an issue to dock points.

Overall, a very good product.

Great budget over-ear headphones!

Modern Retro Over Ear Heardphones

I'm severely hearing impaired and wear hearing aids in both ears. I don't hear low tones, like bass, very well and often the other frequencies aren't easy to comprehend as well. I'm unable to listen to any sound that is broadcast from a speaker in the room, so for the past decade I've been using headphones with an inline amplifier to boost the volume so I can listen to TV shows and music via my PC and monitor. I tried out the monoprice headphones because of the around the ear - ear pads, which I found produced better overall sound quality for me when used in conjunction with the new Neoteck inline amp I was also trying for the first time. The only complaint I have, thus far, about the monoprice headphones is that the headband is not very comfortable, and like other reviewers have stated there is no way to lock down a personal size setting, so the wide plastic headband squeezes my head since tension is used to keep the headphones secured to my ears and the top of my head. Perhaps the addition to a small bit of padding to the bottom side of the headband might make these headphones more comfortable. I find that after an hour or two I can't wait to take them off.

monoprice headphones - better sound, less comfortable ergonomics

The sound is fine but the cord rattles around in the left ear constantly. Even if I'm perfectly still, my heartbeat is enough movement to rattle the cord. To stop it, I took duct tape and wrapped it around the entry point. The duct tape weakens over time and I have to reapply it. I haven't thought of a permanent solution yet.

Went to MP to buy some cables and bought these.   Loud ringing sound in the background.  Maybe these will improve over time but not worth sending back for a refund.  The adage that you get what you pay for applies here.  So far my experience with MP has been mixed.  Good for banana clips, sent wrong cable , poor quality headphones.  So far batting 1 for 3.
