Great finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was a little cumbersome as far as installation ease and clarity with instructions, but once you understand and get the first one installed, it becomes a little easier/more manageable. It was especially difficult to ascertain exactly WHERE you want it, so figure that part out first beforehand so you don't have to continue drilling additional holes into your wall. Unfortunately, the bathtub in both my bathrooms have a mold encasing that reaches all the way to the top sticking out and THAT was blocking the installation for the shower rod so we had to move it out farther away from the tub to make it work, which worked better in the end anyway because it made the shower curtain less likely to touch my elbows and gave me more abundant space in the shower--it felt like I was in a SPACESHIP after stepping inside for the first time and seeing how much space and room I had! After installation it looks elegant and high class and good solid quality, especially with the deep, dark, black color. If you make it work, you'll be happy with it.

Works For My Needs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems well made, but I was looking for a tension rod and this requires attachment to the wall.

I purchased and installed the second of two curved shower rods today. I noted the pin (Philips head screw) that connects the plastic mounting bracket to the rod actually can slide from the bracket during installation. I thought that the screw could have an actual head in order to manage the location of the screw that connects the mounting bracket to the rod. Also, except for costs, why do manufactures of household products use low quality hardware? Most of the screws, bolts and related hardware are not ASTM/ANSI material and many times need to be replaced because they screws break and/Philips heads are too soft to use as one would think.

The rod is nice looking once you get it installed. You must ensure the black piece that holds against the wall has the flat sides up and down or the end cap won't attach properly. That took me a while to figure out and was quite frustrating. 

Somehow I lost the plastic ring that goes between the two rods and provides a smooth path for the curtain rings to travel across the seam. A call to Moen was all it took for a free replacement.

tricky installation

The installation was the low point of this product. Instructions were fairly straightforward except when it came to the rubber ring/gasket that fits between the two pieces to (I am assuming) keep moisture out and make tubes slide easier The instructions indicate that the ring should fit on the smaller diameter tube, which it does not. It fits on the larger but the nylon end bushing on the smaller tube has to be trimmed down by hand or sanded down because it extends outward making its diameter too large to fit through the rubber gasket. Once the size of the nylon bushing is reduced to be flush with the chrome tube it slides in perfectly. Someone with no dexterous skills will not like this.
Everything else went perfectly.
Quality Assurance Department needs to review the translation and accuracy of the installation instructions.

Should have been 5 stars...BUT...

I have installed several other shower rods and this shower rod installation is the worst I have ever done. The anchor bolts are poor. The plastic posts are not interchangeable if the rod has to be removed when reattaching each post fits only one specific rod. The decorative covers scratch the walls paint when they are installed and are loose after installation. Once installed there is too much give to the rod. I would not recommend this product to anyone. It is a very poor product. This rod is overpriced for the quality. The shower rod model is DN 2160 and when registering the rod was attempted, the model number was rejected.
