I used the sub to fit under the passenger seat in my Class A motorhome. It replaced a larger Polk Audio sub box that took up too much space. It integrates perfectly with my surround sound system in the coach. It fits, is unobtrusive and sounds great! Couldn't be happier!!

Slim subwoofer for motorhome

I bought this sub to aid the bass levels  combining with the 6.5 coaxial speakers I just upgraded. Ran the RCA sub output from the head  to the sub and plugged it into the outlet powered by a 1000W inverter soI can use it down the road. The sub fits perfectly in  a cut out under the passenger side dash. My wife likes it for a footstool. well the sub does the trick after getting it adjusted with volume and crossover settings. So much easier than installing a 4 ohm 12v powered car audio sub box/amp. Adds the missing link to the music.

For my RV

I'm a touring audio engineer by trade, so I spend a fair bit of time playing with sound in different rooms around the world. After a remodel of our living room I was finally able to get my rack of silver-faced Yamaha gear installed with some nice L/R bookshelf speakers. They've done well on their own, but I knew I wanted a more present low end.

After reading reviews of this box, knowing it would be perfect to hide under the couch (so the Mrs. couldn't say anything about a new piece of gear being visible!), I cut out a hole in the lining of the lining, swapped out a keystone jack in the network low voltage junction box for RCA, and got a new cable run around to the sub's new home.

First impressions, this thing is *perfect*. Tight and punchy with music of all genres, it brought a smile to my face the second it was plugged in and running tunes. I was even more impressed last night watching a TV show, as for the first time I heard an entirely new part of the mix that I'd never before been aware of, a nice rumbly low end in different scenes. This unit truly transformed the shape of the sound within the room without even being seen. Someday I'll get a listening room with a paired set of subwoofers accenting each front corner, but for now this is exactly what I was looking for. Well done, Monoprice.

If I'm able to write this kind of glowing review within 24 hours of installing it, you're going to love the subwoofer - I promise.

Impressive...

Paired with Polk Audio S15?s & S35 center speaker makes movies come alive! Living room is 15?x 20? and is more than enough to ?rock ? the house. I am very impressed with the sound and quality of this unit for the price point. Best choice for the money.

Great Product ??

In my 12x14 bedroom/office/music room I use a pair of Jamo 803 speakers, which have a beautiful smooth sound. The bass is fine, but I wanted to add a little bottom so they wouldn't have to work so hard. I chose the Monoprice 8 inch, and I'm happy to say it makes a tremendous difference. Setup was easy, mine is on it's side on the two support legs provided, up against the side of a bookshelf. I keep the gain at 30% to avoid overpowering my speakers. Very impressed with this woofer, at a reasonable price. 
Do measure for fit, it is not a small box.

Impressive Bass from 8-inch

We purchased the 8" to slide behind a sectional in the TV room (28' x 22' with 10' ceilings).  Flipped it on "Auto" and spent a few minutes adjusting the crossover frequency while listening to various sources.  No "popping" sound when the amp speaker turns on/off in Auto mode.  No hiss either.  Plenty of bass for our TV room without pissing off the neighbors.  Volume set to approx 50% and tuned with Audessy feature on Marantz NR1608.  For the money and size, I couldn't recommend it more.

Impressive performance and small footprint

Had a noticable scratch but no damage to the shipping box.   I didn't worry since it worked great regardless.  Lots of boom boom for the man room .   I like the option to leave it upright or flat.  Which makes placement so much better then my old sub.   I'm happy with it.

Skinny BOOM for the mancl cave room!!

Happy with this purchase. I have paired them with my Presonic Ceres 3.5 BT studio monitor speakers, and this pairing gives them just the bass punch that they need. I especially appreciate the standby mode when the subwoofer does not detect an audio signal, and which turns the unit on and off automatically. I found that you have to give the new subwoofer a bit of play time in order to for it to settle in and achieve its true sound potential. Recommended.

Nice basic subwoofer

I am pleasantly surprised by how well this sub performs. I've wanted to beef up the bottom end for my in ceiling speakers on my first floor. I didn't want to spend much as I mainly use them for background music when I have company over. This sub sounds very nice for an 8 inch $100 powered sub. I am thoroughly impressed. As a frame of reference, I have a decent home theater system in my living room consisting of: a top of the line Denon receiver, Oppo Blu-ray, Older yet still cranking Klipsch RF-7 mains and matching center and surrounds and two Def tech Trinity subs. Obviously this sub doesn't compare to my main system but it is a steal for the price and will satisfy the needs of many who need a sub for a tight space. Well done Monoprice. I am now very curious to hear the monolith subs.
