I was building up my first sound system (Klipsch speakers and Yamaha AVR). Found that I need wire as well so did a bit research and designed to go with Monoprice. Since this is my first system so I cannot compare with any other product but this wire meets my expectation so far.

Great Product

I was using some 14 GA generic wire purchased from Best Buy. I decided to move my speakers to the back of the room and run the wires through the wall, so I needed more wire. I Did a little research and settled on replacing my wires with this product from Monoprice. I didn't expect to hear any difference, I just knew it was a fairly long run and the all copper wire would probably be the best to use. After the wires were run, I turned on the stereo and was blown away by the sound difference. My system always starts on the same volume setting, but this wire made it sound about 50% louder. I say 50% because I had to cut the volume in half to get the same start up volume to which I was accustomed. In addition, the extra detail I now hear at low volumes is incredible. I was never one of those people who thought speaker wire would significantly influence the quality of sound from speakers, but this product proved me wrong. Thank you Monoprice. Great product at a great price.

Noticeable improvement in sound

Finally upgraded from my 16 guage wire that I've been using for decades. Not sure why I didn't do it sooner since it was so inexpensive. It could be my imagination, but I think my system sounds better for it. It seems less "brittle" at higher volumes. ?????

Cheap upgrade

This wire showed up as described, and for a good sales price. I did not measure the 100 foot length or do a cross section check on the copper or do a metallurgical analysis to see the purity, but unless I am mistaken this absolutely *is* pure copper and not copper coated aluminum or anything like that. The insulation seems totally normal, and it cuts and strips as expected, like any other wire I've purchased. The overall shopping experience and product was free of surprises, and I feel like this we a satisfactory transaction with nothing noteworthy to report. I'm certain that I will forget about the whole thing before long, but I think it's worth taking a moment to reflect on things when they do go as planned and nobody is ripping you off. We focus on the negative so often or make things a big deal when they don't need to be. If everybody could just chill the F out, maybe the world would be a little nicer and we could come together to eat some pastries and maybe talk about literature.

Extremely adequate cable

This product and the gold-plated banana clips were the final addition to my new audio system.  The wires are very robust and definitely add warmth and depth to my speakers.  I had previously been using 16 gauge on 6ohm speakers, so the added heft allows for better sound quality.

Very good improvement replacing my ancient 23 AWG with this 12 AWG. The reduction in resistance is so impressive that I can only turn my amplifier's volume control to the #4 position out of 20 for normal listening. Sound is coming out beautifully through the old UTAH floor speakers I love it. Plus the center speaker and subwoofer work very well.

Good Cable...

I bought 2, 100' rolls, and used almost all of it.  I just cut, made, and connected the cables a few weeks ago so I can't speak about the "corrosion issue" some have claimed.  I also cannot speak about the "gage issue" some have claimed either, but I CAN tell you it was substantially bigger than the 16ga Monster wire I USED to use and pretty much fit in the 12ga notches in my termination pliers so...  It wasn't the ultra fine "Litz" type wire that the Monster cable was (which is FAR easier to nick and much harder to deal with), but, from my reading all the hype that you need Litz wire to reduce "skin effect" for audio is total BS.  You're NOT transmitting audio in the 1MHz range or above.  As such, this wire is just fine.  I can't state that my audio is much punchier than before because of the upgrade in wire gage because I have a new, more powerful amp and 3 new  bigger speakers, but, I'm sure the lowered resistance for the longer runs (almost 30') had to help.  I had no trouble cutting the wire beyond what I'd expect for such thick wire, and I had a great set of wire cutters anyway that cut right through it no problem, just a little effort.  As far as stripping the wire, again, it's what I'd expect for 12ga.  I will agree that the webbing between the wires could be a little thicker, it does separate a tad too easy.  Also, I'd rather see the grey/blu line to be black, or red, or better yet, black and red to make the terminations easier (I used banana plugs).  Overall, exactly what I'd expect, no more, no less, and hopefully I won't have any of the supposed corrosion issues.

So far so good

This is quality all copper wire with a rather high number of strands making it very flexible. There is a blue painted stripe on one conductor that is wide enough to make it easy to see. The insulation is clear and abrasion resistant. It gets soft at higher temperatures. The resistance is 1.6 ohms per 1000 ft, and the nominal capacitance in 25pf/ft. This cable is suitable for any indoor cable runs for speakers typically found in homes. Properly terminated this cable will deliver all the sound your system can produce.

Quality Speaker Wire for Home Theater

It's speaker wire. Luckily, not much to go wrong here. I made myself some new speaker cables to replace older ones I had repurposed from something else that were too short for the application. So far so good over the several months they've been in there.

This wire seems to be as stated. I give it three stars as an alert to other users that it might not be what you need for in0wall or in-ceiling speakers, because those wires in most states must be fire rated CL2 or CL3. This wire does not meet that criteria. And, the cost to send it back by USPS is $42 for me.

Not for In-wall or In-ceiling installations

This is tiny in comparison to any other 14AWG I've ever used-even Monoprice's own 14/4 cable is bigger than this stuff. I'd say in honesty it's maybe 16 or 18 AWG. Love Monoprice but this stuff sucks.
