You can never have too many USB ports!

I run a small home server farm consisting of 8 external drives used to store movies, photos and videos. I had already filled up the 4 ports on the PC plus 4 port and 10 port USB hubs so I went looking for another USB hub. As always Monoprice had just what I needed, and for less than the competion.

This 13 port USB hub is small but surprisingly heavy due to it's all metal construction. The USB connectors slide on firmly but easily, providing just enough grip to insure that the cables don't detatch accidently.

My only complaint was that it did not come with mounting accessories but that was solved with a quick trip to a hardware store.

Highly recommended!

This is a great, solid product in a metal enclosure. No more having to unplug a drive to make room for another. Go ahead and plug them all in. If you need more that 13 ports ... you need to talk to someone. You might have a USB problem. For the rest of us, this is a rock-solid USB solutionl

Great, Metal, 13-port, Small, USB Monster

It's a great device, plenty of room for flash drives and other gear that requires an USB type A socket.  It saves wear and tear on the USB ports on your computer when you have keep switching flash drives in and out.  I keep my important files on flash drives and back them up so I don't lose them in case of a computer crash.  I would recommend it for anyone who needs a lot of type A sockets.  I have had mine a month now well built and no problems with it.

USB SOCKET MULTIPLE EXTENDER

Very solid construction.  It provides great performance for as many drives as I can throw at it ... typically 5 or 6 at a time.  Having a power supply is absolutely required by me .. several "old style" HDDs  (with the spinning magnetic brown stuff on plates)  .. They need power, and this device provides it.   Well worth the price.

I love it.  Solid, Reliable, Great performance .. I use it all the time.

Recently, I've been getting more hard drives for my laptop, and it just doesn't have enough USB slots for all of them. So, I figured I'd find myself a USB hub that could support all of them at once, and this most certainly delivered! It's already running 3 HDDs, and that's only the start. Worked as intended, would buy again.

Just what I needed!

I ordered this hub to reply an aging, 8-port version and it hasn't disappointed! I can use all ports at same time with no problems whatsoever. It is well-built, solid - the connections do not come apart and easily withstand rapid plugging, unplugging. A good choice!

Heavy duty 13-port USB 3.0 Hub

Note1: For those not aware, the 1 dedicated charging port does NOT connect for data, but WILL still charge even if computer is powered off.

Note2: Remaining 13 hub ports will only charge when connected computer is powered up. I wish there was an option to always have these active.

Note3: Someone in Q&A seemed to think there were 3x 2.0 ports.    Per MP description, all 13x are 3.0.

Note4: As mentioned by others, it could use some mounting hardware or holes, but still totally usable.

Note5: I have a couple old iomega minimax drives (usb 2.0, dedicated power adapters) that the hub DOES see, but they refuse to mount through the hub, even though the OS can see them connected. They do mount normally when NOT going through this hub. Conversely, I have a couple seagate 5tb drives (usb 3.0, no dedicated power adapters) and the hub handles those seemingly perfectly, plus 10 mobile devices charging up at the same time.

Solid purchase.  Minor notes.

This unit technically functions, but does not function as a high bandwidth hub... my usb 2.0 devices do not even show up as usb 2.0

the power button only works sometimes.  You have to press it about ten times to get it to stick in the on position.

Cheap, poorly made

In my application I attempted to use this with 7 WiFi USB network adapters to create a bonded internet connection, which was successful until I started transferring a larger amount of persistent data. After 20-30 minutes the hub gets very hot and drops IO connections. I suspect the internal bridge is failing under stress.  It works more reliably when I provide external cooling to the aluminum chassis though I hesitate to add any more devices to this experiment without a more extreme cooling solution in place. I would say it falls short for my application, though passes for a purely charging-only application. I plan to measure the power draws from the adapters and from the device to see if it is operating to specification, I have my doubts.
