I was a little apprehensive as MP has been hit or miss on the connectivity side of things for some time now, but I'm glad I gave them another shot. My new office rewire project looks great and everything passed certification testing like a breeze, the first time!

Monoprice

I didn't have a punch down tool. Punched the cat6 cable with the back of my utility knife blade and it worked like a breeze. I am not sure if that is ideal way to do it but it worked out well for me. The quality seems good. It also comes with little covers and a tiny cable tie.

Worked great

Installed a ton of these. After trying these, while I assumed would be junk jacks because they were way cheaper. I find them to be equal to if not better then the several main brand others I have tried over the years. I have had zero bad jacks out of at least 500 installs, probably over 1000.

Well over 500 installed

This was the jack I needed. I bought a cat5e jack not knowing that wire thickness is smaller on cat6 cables, and I could not get them to punch in with the included mini puncher. This cat6 jack didn't come with a puncher, but it did cut into the wire casings like it was supposed to using my old one, although it took a few tries. I knew I hadn't punched them all properly when the computer was only recognizing it as a 100Mbs connection.

Use the right jack!

Setting up a new network rack and a previous comment got me wondering... So I ordered 4 keystones and 1 came in the new design. Same PID as the old design but missing the slot for strain relief. It has a looser fit in the slot. The one benefit is that is is thinner so it should fit more high density 24-slot panels. This design clocks in at 16.3mm thick while the old one is 18.2mm at it's widest. It is also shorter but comes in a one piece cap.

I don't mind the new design BUT the biggest issue is the difference in color. I can't order more keystones if the colors are simply not going to be the same. I need them in a variety of color but I don't appreciate this lottery game.

Style and color not consistent

Very easy to use and work with. Label is easy to read, and it's nice that it came with a zip tie for that little extra support of the cable jacket, keeping the tension off of the contacts.

The keystone is a bit wide, so using a standard 1U keystone patch panel, you can't physically insert 3 side-by side. You can only fit two at an angle.  Monoprice has a 1U keystone panel, and it has offset keystone holes so they all fit. If you're using surface mount biscuits, no issue.

Easy to use, but WIDE. Beware of clearance.

I have been buying these for years. The jacks I received on 2020-12-18 are not the same. They lack the cable retention in the back and they are harder to punch. The different style I did receive did not fail. (Used over 50 so far).

If you are going to supply a different product, you should let the buyer know so they can make an educated decision.

NOT THE SAME JACK

Received my order 2 June 2021 and the keystones are bagged with the correct item number, but the punch layout of the keystones is totally different from what they've shipped before and different from what is pictured. If you're expecting the arrangement like is inpicture - that they've used forever -you're going to be disappointed.

BEWARE - THEY CHANGED THE PUNCH LAYOUT

These used to be great jacks.  The latest batch I received has the same item number on the bags, but is not the product that is currently pictured as of 1/11/2021.  The ones I received don't have any strain relief at all (no slot at the back, and no cable tie, and no other strain relief system).  They look like they will punch down well, but I need these jacks to have the strain relief in my application, so these are basically useless to me.

Not like they used to be

Read the disclaimer that states "physical design changes may be made to listed specifications without prior notice". Meaning they can replace the existing product with a subpar item. We've been using the #5379 jacks for years. The latest order we received had a completely different jack with no strain relief capability. They also no longer fit in the universal black Punch down holders sold by Monoprice, CableMatters, and ShowMeCables. We'll be looking for a new supplier from now on.
