And while it is generally square there is a bit of shaping that works to place one edge of the mat in a more confined area such as under a desk. It is easy to roll and move so it can serve several purposes.

Thin yet strong

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a 30" x 66" PVC mat, approximately 3/16" thick, with textured surfaces on both sides, designed to protect floors and carpet from the placement of heavy exercise equipment and to keep it from sliding when in use. From first opening the box, I was impressed with the heavy duty quality of the mat, as it immediately laid flat on the floor without curling, and would roll back up easily (making it convenient for storage). Because it is constructed from recycled PVC plastic and is treated with antimicrobial and fungistatic agents, its nonabsorbent surface will repel water, sweat, grease and other liquids, and will not absorb damaging microorganisms. Although the mat is intended for fitness equipment, I put mine under my desk chair, over a piece of coated plywood that was delaminating due to age and use. The mat effectively smoothed over the uneven surface and made it much easier to roll the chair around, and it was easy to trim to size – exactly what I was looking for. Because the mat is very well constructed and can be used for multiple applications, I believe it is a great value for the money and therefore I highly recommend it.

Heavy-duty, versatile fitness equipment mat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really am liking this exercise mat. I have been looking for a longer mat for some time. This one is 30x66. Has great texture. Also prevents damage to floor when in place and equipment is on it on any type of flooring. 
There is one side that is described as pebbled surface texture that helps keep the mat from shifting during use and is very easy to clean. 
No issues at all so far. I would suggest that anyone with exercise equipment think about getting this mat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The MotionTex Fitness Equipment Mat performs its intended purpose of preventing damage to floors from fitness equipment placed upon it. The black mat, made from a recycled PVC compound, is about 5.5 feet long, 2.5 feet wide, and one-eighth inch deep, making it large enough to accommodate most fitness equipment. The top of the mat has a pebbled texture that prevents fitness equipment from moving during use, while the bottom of the mat has a smoother texture that prevents friction with flooring but still prevents slipping. In the numerous hours that I have used the mat thus far, there was no movement of the fitness equipment on top of it or of the mat on the floor. This lack of movement also should lessen any deterioration of the mat over time due to scraping from fitness equipment or flooring. Supposedly, the mat also is constructed with an anti-microbial agent to prevent microorganisms from degrading it. The mat should have no problem completely protecting uncarpeted flooring, but is not thick enough to completely prevent indentations on carpeted flooring from fitness equipment placed upon the mat. The resulting indentations, however, are still far less noticeable than if no mat were between the carpeted flooring and the fitness equipment.

Good Fitness Equipment Mat

 I have old parkay floors, Jus had them sanded 5 months ago, so if you were going to use it to protect your floor from scratches and dents to wood this is the mat for you. I put it in my kitchen buy the sink.The floor there is ceramic tiles. I use a stool in the kitchen to do almost everything and the stool was cracking the tiles. Once I put the MotionTex Mat down on the ceramic tile, was great i can roll around my kitchen even better now. I am very grateful for this you will be to!

When I picked this item for my next review I figured it would be a cheap mat but when I picked up the box after it was delivered I was surprised. It looks and feels like a great mat, heavy construction and one that should last for years. It comes rolled up in a box and when I unrolled it, it layed flat, no waves. When I was reading about the Dimex company I seen that their plant is in Marietta Ohio and as far as I know these mats along with their other products are made here in the USA. I've used their products before in landscaping and have had great success so I would expect these mats to be just as durable. From mats that go under your recumbent cycle or your barbecue grill there are many sizes available to fit your needs.

Nice heavy mat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This comes in a tight roll, when I received it I figured I would have problems with it laying flat. Surprisingly I moved my tread mill and laid it out, I stepped on it where it wasn't laying flat and it went down. It did roll when putting my tread mill back on so had my husband step on it at the front to help keep it in place. I only gave it 4 stars because I was looking for a bit of a thicker pad to protect my flooring underneath. It fits perfectly under my tread mill for width and length and it is protecting my floor nicely just wish it was a tad thicker.

The MotionTex Fitness Equipment Mat is a sheet of black rubber about an 1/8th of inch thick, which can be used as a buffer between heavy objects and your flooring protecting the heavy object and your flooring from possible damage. The company claims, “The pebbled surface texture helps to keep fitness machines from shifting during use and is easy to wipe clean. An antimicrobial agent is used in the unique material formula to protect against microorganisms that can degrade the material and cause odors…” and I guess this is true but mostly it's a thin black mat that isn't very comfortable beneath bare feet, or noticeable when wearing foot-wear. Mostly, it's just one of those things that just does its job without you noticing one way or the other.

Very utilitarian

First, the 'weight' of it isn't bad, you can carry it easily enough, meaning, if you want to move it, it's not heavy. IT stays put on the the floor, which is good, BUT what you put on top of it, well, not so much :( Also, should you want, or need to trim it, it cuts easily with a razor blade/box cutter.
