Works with Xfinity and after hooking up you'll need to go to your Xfinity account and activate it! Xfinity doesn't make it easy to find the activation since you're taking away $15 a month they'd love to charge you to rent one of theirs! LoL, what a joke right!

Previous modem started to have reliability problems, so I tried this. Had it running for over a week now, and setup was easy (followed my ISP's [Suddenlink] online instructions) and had it up and running in minutes. I have a contracted download speed of 400Mbits, but usually received actual speeds in the 200 Mbits range. 
Both of our desktops are hard-wired to our router. In my experience, different browsers and computers can make speeds vary. But on my machine, Firefox went from 294.7 with old modem to 322.4 with this Motorola. On my wife's machine, Chrome went from 145.3 with old to 202.9 with this modem. Opera, Edge, and Yandex browsers were all in the range of what they were before, on either modem. My old Acer Chromebook (which is connected via WiFi) was always slow with the old modem (50Mbits or so), but increased a bit with this new modem (60.6Mbits).  I'm happy with the performance of the Motorola and besides our desktops, we have Roku and Firestick streaming devices, as well as tablets and e-readers, so pretty heavy Net users.
Last two modems had Intel chip sets, and while it didn't make a difference to me, I started to read about the Intel/Puma chip set problems (easy to find with a online search), and started to wonder if the problems with my old modem were somehow related? (Could never prove it...) But this Motorola has a Broadcom chip set, so I thought I'd err on the side of discretion. This modem gets good reviews everywhere I checked, so I chose it. Happy so far!

Happy With It!

Good way to save money over paying the cable company for a modem.  Payback should be about a year or less.  I thought I could just swap out the new for the old one and it would fire right up.  You need to contact your internet provider to activate the new modem.  After figuring that out the new modem works great.

Great modem with eventual cost savings.

Product arrived quickly and has been working flawlessly for a month now.  I was cognizant that it is a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, not DOCSIS 3.1.  However, based on my research and the speed of our internet connection, its performance is way above our needs.  Why pay for a newer and faster router when you know that you won't use the super fast connectivity.  We are using the router with Comcast and it has been rock solid.   
The old cable modem (also DOCSIS 3.0 but 8 year old model) was showing more and more errors.  Since I swapped with the new cable modem, no errors.  Just a nice stable connection.

Reliable and fast enough for our needs.

Sale price was awesome.  Easy to set up by downloading xfinity app to cell phone and connecting to your account. There is a selection for setting up new modem. Very easy.

Excellent buy

This modem does a great job without breaking the bank.  It's plenty fast enough for anyone except for gig-speed users.  Simple to set up and reliable.  My only complaint is that it has just one ethernet port.  If you need more, that can easily be solved with an inexpensive switch.

Provides a speed rate faster than what I 'am paying for from Comcast. Paired with Netgear WiFi router AC 1600  and running 5 devices at once with no drop in speed.

Great buy

very easy to set up.  I have xfinity.  plugged modem in, went online i. the xfinity app, entered the modem address, and was activated and running in 11 minutes. its the exact time the app gives you.

This device is amazing!  I'm surprised that it took me this long to research and purchase this device after years and years of renting my local cable equipment while spending hundreds upon hundreds of dollars over the years for their equipment when I could have had my own for just a fraction to obtain the same reliable and robust service.  I feel like Rip VanWinkle.  I digress.  My DS/US is a constant average of 241/12 mbps or better.  No freezing, very little buffering, or pixilating.  This is a wonderful piece of equipment that I look to enjoy for time to come.  Good job, Motorola.

A Wonderful New Upgrade

If you have Xfinity speed over 200M, stay away from this modem. I've been working to figure out my problem for two weeks, with xfinity coming to my home twice and my old ZOOM modem with 8 down channels is faster than this Motorola with 24 down channels, I'm on 400M speed and I'm only getting 200 to 230 with the Motorola and 260 to 280 with my old 8 channel ZOOM modem. MOTOROLA says it's a problem with xfinity and xfinity says it's this modem but xfinity tech showed me the speed I have multiply times and this modem can't do it.
