[Employee of walmartcanada] excellent product

excellent bike

Great size for our 7yr old grand daughter. My only complaint is the difficulty in changing gears with the stiff twist control.

Good value at today's inflated prices.

Instructions lacking

For the price it is not terrible. Adjusting the brakes is the worst part. You have to undo the front brakes to put the front tire on... when you do this the end cable clamp that keeps the cable from fraying will 100% be shot off across the room no matter how careful you are. The wheels are almost true, just a bit wobbly.

Ok for the price.

I bought two of these bikes for my daughters. I am a bike enthusiast and have spent quite a bit of time with them in the workstand.

The good: frame is decent, seatpost is 25.4 and has lots of adjustment room, paint is good, hubs, headset and bottom bracket all took bearing adjustment well and have not fallen out of spec for about 100km.

The mediocre: rear hub spacing is about 5mm too wide, dropouts were not aligned but this was easy to remedy.

The bad: all 4 wheels have clear bumps on the rims from the weld, making it impossible to do a perfect true. With time and grit these high spots will hopefully wear down but prepare for bumpy braking for the life of the bike. The derailleur hanger was slightly misaligned but I was able to bend it back on one of the two bikes. The brake pads, used only in the dry, have signs of a fair bit of wear already.

The grip shifters are by far the worst part of the bike. They are incredibly stiff and nearly impossible for a 7 year old to use. Once you do shift there is so much slop in the shifter that shifting is vague, it often goes out of tune and clicks away. I tried compressionless cable housing but that only slightly improved the otherwise terrible shifting. I've replaced both the freewheel and the shifters with Shimano Tourney 6 speed shifters and the shifting issues have resolved themselves.

Not a bad base for upgrades

Product came with damage seat. I noticed after I assembled. Asked for some discount or exchange seat but Walmart denied. Not satisfied .

Do not like exchange policy

Bike has cracked paint coming off straight out of the box. Wouldn't expect that on a brand new bike. Haven't even used it. It's going straight back to Walmart
