[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works well and as described! The only negative for me that the controls are black on black, so, hard to read.

Inexpensive, but fine

I really wanted this device to perform well. I wanted to record the melody of some songs that I play on guitar, then accompany them with guitar chords. And the ability to transfer the recording to a flash drive and save on the computer was the clincher that I had to have. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!  The play back of my recording was awful probably due to a poor quality of the built in microphone. In addition, the unit hummed during playback.  Annoying. So  I thought I'd try to transfer music from a Christmas carol cassette which sounded good, to a flash drive and save it to my computer. IT DIDN'T TRANSFER ANYTHING. In addition, the documentation did not describe the function of the keys on the tape recorder. I had to figure that out myself. And they were poorly labeled so that I had to get right on top of it to find out if I was pressing the correct keys. The documentation was incorrect when it stated to depress three different keys to record. In reality, only two keys needed to be pressed to record. But I had to figure out which two keys they were. I returned this to Walmart for my refund. I suggest you look at a different brand. One more thing. I ordered this twice.  The first time, they sent me an MP3 player by mistake.  If I'm not too lazy over the next few days, I'm going to send my evaluation to the manufacturer if I can find their address. I gave this one star.  A choice of zero stars was not offered.

Avoid this unit.

I have transferred ten albums so far.
I have not had any trouble.
By default, the unit puts all of ths songs
on a side of the cassette into the same
mp3 file.  If while recording, and the
red light is on, if you push the PLAY/PAUSE/REC
button, it stops blinking and halts recording
to the file.  If you want each song in a
separate mp3 file, you need to push STOP,
(stop the cassette playing), then you can
push PLAY and PLAY/PAUSE/REC again and the
next song will be in the next file.

My cassettes are old (15yrs?).  So I found
it best to wipe the recording head with a dry 
q-tip every time I turned the cassette over or
put in a new cassette, to keep the sound 
clear.

Works Just Fine after 10 cassettes transferred.

Complete piece of junk - erased my tape despite having the table pushed out to prevent it. Contacted the company that makes this recorder and honestly, no one seems to care. Don't waste you time or money on this. If you want a cassette in mp3 form, take it to a professional and save yourself the heartache.

Destroyed my recording - does not work

I already entered a review, and it hasn't been posted. Cassettes played w/ it are played back too fast and in the wrong key. I wasn't able to use the USB output to record to a "USB Device", which is why I purchased it. When I tried to, it erased the music on the tape, and put nothing on the USB device. The deck is uesless to me, and I will be returning it.

Not worth the space it takes up

Bad sound quality. The tapes would slow and speed up. Very disappointed.

Not usable.
