It works great. I placed 2 fire bricks in the bottom to give it some weight and to even out the heat while cooking on a 2 burner camp propane stove.  I have been amazed how it has been so easy to adjust the heat on the stove to get the variable heat levels in the oven. I also added another rack so I could cook 2 items at a time. I saw another review where they had added one and it worked great. I ame so glad I purchased this camping oven.

Recently started camping again after several year hiatus, my old oven disappeared and needed a new one and found this one on sale. I use a digitial thermometer placed inside the oven when cooking because I don't feel analog thermometers are precise. Same great quality in the new product as the old. I have found over the years, through trial an error, that you can cook or bake just about anything you can at home with this oven.  You won't go wrong buying this product, but like anything, there is a learning curve.

Great Product

I've often wanted one of those fancy camp stove/oven combos. Then I saw Coleman's camp oven that folds flat and compact and uses your existing stove. For our maiden voyage with the camp stove, I whipped up some Mediterranean Stuffed Bell Peppers, a fancy meal for being out in the 'wilderness'.
How it went: The whole thing is metal and as common sense would tell you, the outside get's hot. I thought the door knob would be hot too, fumbled with turning it using pot-holders, then found out it's not hot. Adjusting your desired temp is all controlled by your stove flame. I did not find it difficult to adjust to the 400 degrees I needed. I slightly over cooked my first pan, the bottom a bit over-done. Second pan came out great. Learning how to use it...

My takeaways is it's compact and light, and allows us  to easily "bake", warm, etc.

Compact and easy to use

Fun to use portable oven makes baking a cake or rolls while camping easy - iOven folds compactly and seems fairly sturdy, some of the hinges seem a bit flimsy. Holds a 9 inch cake pan. Fun to impress people with the smell of fresh baked items while camping!

This item is well made for the price. I was looking for a sturdy oven type of container to hookup a UV-C light in. Patched all the vents with aluminum duct tape. When done with it, can be folded up and put away.  Maybe one day I will bake some biscuits.

Versatile

My dad bought a Coleman camp oven in the 1960s and we used it for years. I had to replace it recently, though, because we had simply worn it out. It was hard for me to believe. This new oven, while not the black oven with gold door to which I'd grown accustomed, appears to be made of quality materials and as good as the old oven. These ovens are the trick! None better!

Consistent quality; excellent product

I remember my grandpa having an oven like this in the 70's and he would make conrbread and biscuts when we were camping.  This oven is almost exactaly like his and I have made biscuts in it so far and they are amazing.  I am very pleased with this oven.

Just like old times

I was happy to have this little oven on my last camp trip and made some wonderful garlic cheese biscuits. Even though I ran out of propane while cooking the second batch I managed to hook it up and just had to cook a little longer. On a cool evening the warm biscuits were a special treat.

My brother has made cake, bread and several other things. It smells wonderful at the camp site.

Coleman Portable Oven

Listen it works well enough. I've baked rolls and cakes and breads and pretzels in it. (pie is on my to do list). My major critique is that the thermometer is very slow to react. If I've got the oven hot and open the door I'd expect the thermometer to drop pretty quickly, but it doesn't. It also doesn't react quickly to ordinary temperature change within the box. This puts quite a burden on the baker to act as the thermostat within pretty wide error bars. Consequently I find I cannot leave the oven for more than a couple minutes while baking if I want to keep the temp within say 30 degrees of target.

Temp management requires constant attention.

Product worked ok, and packs small, but the bottom could be a little heavier gauge, and one of the side hives was not in its track(easy fix but should have been inspected before it left the factory) overall it was a good purchase and hope to get many years of use out of it.

Affordable but needs better quality control

I took this unit camping and used it on my 2 burner stove. I needed 400* for the recipe. It never got past 325*. Maybe I need 3 burner stove? Unit is well constructed so I will try again next camping trip.
