This aftershave has a nice mild manly smell to it.  When applying it gives just ever so slight of a sting burn) that makes me feel that it is working to disinfect and prevent shaving rash.  I am pleased with this as an aftershave.  It leaves my face refreshed and rejuvenated.

Nivea Men's Max Hydration with Aloe Vera works great! Subtle, pleasant smell that doesn't overpower. Not overly thick and not watery but you can feel the aloe vera absorb into the skin when applied to a freshly shaved face. Calms the skin, feels great, and smells nice, too.

A must have for the man cabinet.

I have been using the Proraso and Safari Shave Balm as gifts and decided to try the Max Hydro on a whim. The scent is nice and it cools my skin after using my safety razor. I may give the original a try and compare as other reviewers have stated to bring it back.

Not in stores near me, I purchased this online. The scent is good, but the incredible way it soothes and moisturizes my face is the reason it's my go to after shave lotion. A side note: I had a facial ski issue from wearing a mask more than once. I finally got medication (pill) and was told to keep face moisturized. I have used this product and it's just fine. I recommend.

Does The Job

The original product with the fragrance was 1000 times better. We are men and we want to use a product that not only feels good but has a nice smell also. This product I found is use by woman who use it as a foundation before makeup! What's with this company? Who ever decided to change the original formula should be fired. If you look on the store shelves they hardly stock the new formula because it does not see. I don't buy this junk anymore. Bring back the original!!!!!!

They made a huge mistake

The old formula was my first aftershave and I soon realized it would remain my aftershave for as long as I'd live. It felt amazing and smelled even better. That was, until the old formula was discontinued. The new formula, however, comes nowhere close. And that's an understatement. I don't want my face to smell like baby wipes. And that's what the new formula smells like. It's the antithesis of what I want my face feeling like and makes me feel like the opposite of a man. Please listen to feedback and stop the baby wipe aftershave. Everyone clearly favors the old.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The replenishing post shave balm was the best. I have been using it for years. This new product is not the same and does not smell as good. It barely has any fragrance. Please bring back the Replenishing Post Shave Balm.

Miss the old product

I was SUCH a loyal customer! I used the Original Replenishing Post Shave Balm for many years and referred it to many people. Nothing else would do for my face! 
This amazing product has been replaced with the Moisturizing Post Shave Balm which is an inferior product, does not moisturize as well as the old product, not does it smell as nice! My wife can't stand the smell of the new balm.
Nivea, you have lost a long-time loyal customer!

What is THIS? Smells like bug spray. I've had TWO women in my life tell me not to wear this 'new' face balm anymore, that it's too strong and doesn't smell good. BTW those same women complimented me more than once on the old formula, which I used for years. I bought one bottle of the new stuff, and thats the last.

Terrible reformulation

I like many of the other reviewers HATE the new product vs. the original. How can your product development teams ignore all of this feedback and not re-formulate back to at least a close resemblance off the original product's fragrance. The original was the best on the market - scent and efficacy without greasy residue however whoever developed the new variants and their fragrances should be moved to a different role within Nivea along with the rest of the teams responsible for allowing this to happen!
