[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I live in new york and well its been very cold here but when i tell you i love me sone grilled burgers and hot dogs man oh man i do and the great thing is i put it right on ny porch cook and it doesnt take up a lot of soace and i can bring it where i need to bring it. The burgers were so yummy can not wait till summer so i can cook on it all day....

Does what it needs to do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got to try this for free for my opinion and I have got to say that this squirrel was absolutely amazing. It was very easy to put together. We used it when we went on a weekend camping trip I would definitely recommend going and getting this.

Yes!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembling the grill was easy. It feels durable enough to not be blown over. As far as grilling goes it cooked the food thoroughly. It's a really nice size, doesn't take up much space while allowing me to cook enough food. Cleaning was simple.

Easy Assembly

Easy to assemble and sturdy unit that works well. I would have awarded 5 stars but there is no height adjustment. My fault, I should have caught that…lol, looked at many.

Good value for the money and sturdy unit

I was looking for review for this item and could not find any in detail. So here is mine after a couple of uses.
Assembly: Not the easiest since the instructions provided are slightly different from the actual product so you will have to figure out what goes where. We did not find an exact how-to video but we managed to put it together. Its easier with 2 people.
Use: The first time you use it, you need to heat it up to burn off factory residue. It was a bit tricky to light up the first time but we go the hang of it from the second time. The temperature gauge helps especially to see if the grill is hot enough to add food, and when cooling it down as well. The top and bottom vents are an excellent feature. The ash pan is slightly tricky to insert and got scratched the first time we used it. The grill maintains its temperature well. My only gripe is that the conical insert inside hangs by 2 hooks and needs to be assembled carefully each time. This could have been designed better. We found the grill heats up better, more evenly and hotter, and burns longer and more evenly when the vortex system is assembled properly (instead of placing the cone at the bottom) when we misplaced the hooks once. Ashes do collect on the side of the kettle so needs to be cleaned if you intend to use this as portable. The ash pan is an excellent feature and helped contain all of the ashes that fell down from the kettle, though a large amount also stuck to the sides of the kettle.
Portability: We got this grill to be portable and we found that it can be transported horizontally with the lid removed in the back of an SUV (ours is a Mazda CX-5) with enough space for our wagon trolly and other picnic items. We wrapped the bottom of the kettle in a garbage bag and knotted it to prevent ashes from falling out and it worked very well. The conical structure for the vortex system tends to fall out so you will have to handle the ashy grill and cone again when you make it upright. This could have definitely been improved. We have to keep track of the little clips to make sure we don't lose them.
Results: The grill is large enough to grill multiple items and the resulting food is delicious. Compared to other similarly sized grills that our friends used during a windy bbq picnic, this grill retained heat and functioned well. Once it is preheated, it cooks food consistently and evenly, and we were serving up bbq while others were struggling to use their grills. Add food once the white smoke has reduced and don't overfill with charcoal otherwise the food and your clothes will smell like bbq for days. Its the perfect size for a small group of people < 10, unless you plan a longer bbq session.

Perfect Grill for a Small Group

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always used propane grills for my outdoor cooking. It's just so easy to ignite and start cooking. After using the NK18 for about a month now, I realize the taste difference with a Charcoal grill. I've never been able to make a steak this good on any other propane grill. The NK18 is the perfect side for somebody who is cooking for 1-3 people. It is also very easy to store in my smaller patio due to its compact size and the addition of two wheels for movement. The kettle seems to retain heat pretty well and I was easily able to maintain temps over 500 degrees. I have yet to slow cook since I have not perfected my knowledge with the temperature control. The only con that I've found with this grill is that the lid doesn't sit flush on top of the grill and has a slight wobble as if it's warped or possibly poor craftsmanship. All in all Napoleon makes a great kettle grill that I plan on using to enjoy steaks on a weekly basis.

Perfect sized kettle grill

Napoleon NK18 Charcoal Kettle BBQ Grill, Black front-facing 18-inch (45.7 cm) charcoal kettle with black lid and bowl, hinged stainless steel cooking grids, integrated temperature gauge, Vortex heat management cone, adjustable top and bottom air vents, elevated legs and ash bucket; suitable for searing, slow roasting and as a compact smoker for camping.
