I have a new sports car that I don't drive and the battery kept going almost dead, wouldn't start car. I've always used diehard trickle chargers and tried one on this car and didn't seem to work. since using the NOCO I've had no problems.  it could be that I moved the keys farther from the car so the electronics don't search for each other but I like the NOCO charger, only change I'd make is not having the charger plug directly into outlet, would be nice to have at least a short cord to plug it in.

As others mentioned, this doesn't come with instructions but they're easy to find online. Just connect to your car battery (typically, positive/red clamp first, then black; depends on your car) and plug the charger in. Was able to use the force charge option (by holding down on the button) to get it to detect my completely dead car battery. Battery was fully charged in about 3 days. You can leave this plugged in indefinitely, which is great for someone who works from home and only makes short, local trips when driving. The cable isn't very long, so you will want to be parked close to a wall  depending on the size of your garage. It's simple, lightweight, small, cheap, and easy to use; if you keep a car in storage or don't drive often, just get it.

Simple and effective

I bought this for my car to maintain the charge if I won't be driving my car for a period of time.  It is very highly rated.  It will charge your battery if needed then switch to a maintainer on its own.  Numerous safeguards to insure your battery will never be overcharged.  For a great price point…. Can't ask for much more.  Great buy.

Excellent battery maintainer that won't overcharge

Everything NOCO makes is a quality product. If you need a battery charger, and do not want one that will take up a lot of space, this is the one you want. Small, lighweight, yet quite well designed for the job, this one you can carry with you, just in case.

Small, powerful, and a very good product

This charger is great. Just hook it up to the vehicle, plug it in and you are set. It selects the correct charging  program for you. The cables are very long and that makes it easy to set up.

Extremely easy to use!

Topped off fine. Son had to go read manual for what AGM meant   He was well pleased with it. Only used one time.
 It will work for old style batteries, and sealed batteries.

Good to see charge amount.

The NOCO Genius1 that we purchased does a great job topping off our lawnmower 12V battery. The lawnmower doesn't recharge the battery like it should so this handy little charger keeps the battery topped off so it'll start up every time. The 1A charger takes a long time to charge from completely dead, but if you have a week or longer it'll handle a full recharge and even repair issues.  Well worth the $30 price tag.

Excellent Little Charger

Better than expected.   The charger doesn't hog the outlet leaving room for another plug above.  It remembers the setting such as AGM that am using in an ATV and charges the battery OK without overheating it.  A descent charger prolongs the life of the battery and a good one is worth a little extra.  Noco seems to do it right.  One thing they should include but don't and that is an adapter to connect standard two pin plug to allow EZ pre-wired connections to the battery terminal posts.  You can buy their adapter, but over priced from Noco.  I made my own. Due to Noco's proprietary connector ... deduct 1 star.  Thus 4.

Effective for small batteries used in ATVs.

On first use, the Genius1 determined the 12V AGM battery for my 1-yr-old-but-rarely-used ZT riding mower was bad, even though it measured 8V. I previously didn't have an AGM compatible charger so the battery went almost a year without being recharged, so this wasn't a total surprise.  So I immediately ordered a new battery. 

Before the new battery arrived, I used the 'force charge' mode until the voltage was high enough to start the mower. After an hour of use, the Genius1 was able to charge the battery normally and I haven't had any more issues. Now I have two good batteries for a mower I rarely use (I live in an arid climate). 

I feel like an idiot for not trying the force charge mode before spending $100 on a new battery. I just took the 'bad battery' indicator literally. Perhaps the instructions should explain how the 'bad battery' indicator may not mean the battery is truly bad...?

I got it, followed everything to a T on the manual,  but the unit was defective, I had tried on other batteries I had and it didn't not charge any of them, maybe it was just the unit I got, but I'll be looking for a different company to use to charge my motorcycle batteries

I suppose a defective product
