This cast iron skillet is suitable for use on the stovetop, in the oven, or out on the grill. It's removable handle lets you detach and place the pan onto a ripping-hot grill-grate or under your boiler and re-attach it for safe, oven-mitt-free retrieval. There's even a heat-resistant tray included, letting you serve your sizzling entree at the table immediately from the cooking surface. Made from thick cast iron, the grill pan tool will last for decades with regular seasoning. 

The Napoleon Professional Cast Iron Oven/Grill Skillet is not pre-seasoned and will need to be washed, then coated with oil or shortening and baked in a 350-degree oven for an hour prior to use. This will allow the surface to develop its hardy non-stick coating. Apply additional layers of seasoning as needed.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received this cast iron skillet in the mail from Napoleon for free to test. Immediately I noticed the weight to it - which always in my mind is a guaranteed indication of great quality cast iron. 
I began to season the skillet that night as directed on the back of the packaging. Not difficult, easy to follow directions and voila it was ready to go.
The next day I tried a couple simple items on it, a grilled cheese sandwich for the kids and a special creamy turkey penne quesadilla. The skillet was easy to handle and work with. I love the removable handle, holds it heat very well, thus cooking at an extreme higher heat level. Great for dedicated cast iron lovers - you will want this one in your collection. It's unique shape will allow you to snap up new recipe ideas.  
I noticed the difference in the food, particularly the crunch in our sandwich and quesadilla. I would
have a couple more kicking around
for the bbq and or the open campfire. Every cast iron fanatic will want this in their cooking arsenal.

I'm not an overly savvy cook, so this skillet is a new way to make meals but wow, I love it! Instructions are a big help for newbies in the kitchen like me (season it first!), and my first meal was fajitas. I'm excited to try more recipes with this!

Fantastic quality!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Full disclosure, I received this product for free for testing purposes. Seasoned up the skillet and made a quick pizza on the barbecue. Skillet preformed as expected for high quality cast iron product. However the removable handle is life changing. So much space saving compared to a traditional skillet.

Now I need every skilled to have a removable handle.

Really good cast iron skillet

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I got the cast iron skillet for free from Napoleon for testing purposes. 
Overall this is very good product, easy to season before first use and very easy to clean. 
Was awsome for the fajitas veggies and meat. Just warm up the skillet the the BBQ, cook the meat and veggies on it or use it as a hot serving plate. The serving tray works really well. The handle is removable which avoids burning yourself on a hot handle.
I am thinking of purchasing a second one for a family meal for 4 people. 
The only downside is the handle. The remvovable handle is great while the skillet is on the serving tray, it can be remved when skillet is set on the table. As the skillet is oval shaped and very hot when in the BBQ it can be heavy to take out of the BBQ. As the handle is removable I would suggest it be either wider or covered with rubber for a better grip. the handle is not used in the BBQ.
I deffinately would recommande this product to everyone. There are so many option on how to use the skillet, BBQ or even in the oven.

Cast iron shillet 56003 - fun to discover the possibilities

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This skillet has been such a great addition to our door fit pit. Every change we get to use we are not disappointed. The quality and ease of use truly validate the cost of the product (which is already so affordable.) I would gift this to a friend or family member and certainly recommend the product.

I would buy 10x over!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Napoleon Prestige Pro and I am always trying to find different ways of using it. I first started with cooking the best steaks ever on the sear burner to the juiciest chicken breast. Then it was al pastor on the rotisserie and then stir fry on the sear burner. And the list goes on.  
This time around, it was wings in the rotisserie. With the wings, I wanted something with them that the kids would love. I went with scalloped potatoes and onions with Velveeta cheese on the Napoleon Cast Iron Skillet. I received this Cast Iron Skillet free from Napoleon as part of their product tester program. This time around I wanted to use it for something other than fajitas. I first thinly sliced the potatoes and onions on the mandolin. At this point, I was worried about the size of the cast iron skillet to provide a full side for the family. I heated the grill to 400 F with two of the main burners and the rear rotisserie burner. I let the potatoes cook for about 35 minutes while the wings ran in the rotisserie basket. The removable handle allows for less space taken on the grill while protecting your hands.  I pulled it off the grill when the potatoes were completely cooked. The potatoes turned out amazing and the amount provided was a lot more than I expected. The true test was if the family liked them. The family completely destroyed all of the potatoes. 
I love this cast iron skillet so much that I am going to buy a second one!

Something different other than fajitas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used the skillet to cook fajita vegetables on the sizzle zone. It worked great! While the chicken was cooking on the prestige pro, we put some sliced onions and peppers with a bit of oil and seasoning in the skillet. What started as a large pile quickly cooked down and they finished up right alongside the chicken. The removable handle was great for bringing them back into the house. The included plastic holder worked well for serving at the table, although we did wait for the pan to cool a bit first. Overall, very happy with the pan but next time I'll add more veggies!

Great for Sizzling Fajitas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Napoleon Professional Iron Skillet 56003 free for testing purposes. This is a product that is well thought out and has many uses; for example, serving sizzling fajitas, or searing a steak right in the skillet on the grill. 

Once the skillet is seasoned,  it can be placed on the hot grill and heated up so one can cook the fajitas or steaks. The skillet kit comes with a handy handle to take the skillet off of the grill.  Napoleon also thought of having a serving platter to place the skillet into for single serving meals (just like a Mexican restaurant). 

Pros:
Heats the food in the skillet on the grill.
A handle is included to easily lift the skillet off of the grill (without burning oneself).
A platter is provided to place the skillet in when it comes off of the grill.
The skillet and platter are combined like a dish on which to eat one's food.

I know I will be using this Professional Iron Skillet frequently in the future!

Well Thought Out Product

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Received the skillet as part of the tester program. At first glace the skillet is well made and the detachable handle is a good idea if you want to use the skillet in the oven or bbq. Now for the less good part, the skillet is quite small in size and me having a big family I don't see myself cooking anything in it. But, it makes a very cute serving plate when you receive guests.

Overall this skillet may be useful some less big households, but I did not see any possible usage for mine.
