Flavor

I have every type of grill you can think of, charcoal, griddle, smoker, gas etc. I bought this to see if I could simplify my grilling life by getting rid of my charcoal grill. Truth be known I didn't get rid of my charcoal grill but I absolutely love this addition to my napoleon grill. I can have the charcoal flavor sere and cook other things all while just using one grill. Can get a little messy to clean but what charcoal grill isn't.

What a great accessory. It allows me to cook with charcoal on one side and gas at the same time on the other. I use and recommend using lump charcoal to reduce the amount of ash.

Awesome accessory

Really like the option to use charcoal or wood chips in the grill but unfortunately this piece of untreated cast iron has corroded and layers are coming off as it oxidizes.

I bought this items, my dealer has replaced it with twice because the cast iron plate splits which can be a problem. My dealer has refunded me in full my purchase because according to said the tank is unavailable? ??? I have only been on a gas bbq since last summer. I am very disappointed with my purchase that does not respect its specifications be cool gas cooking, charcoal cooking not available... I am surprised because Napoleon is a brand that has always had an exemplary reputation. Michel

We are very disappointed with this product. We used it 3 times. At the 3rd use it cracked and there is a crack on the plate. The price of this accessory is not worth the investment. The retailer also refused to return the product because it was only a one-year warranty. I would not recommend this accessory.

I have used the coal pan on my Prestige 500 for more than 10 years on a regular basis. This is a great product, also very affordable, which I recommend to all owners of Napoleon BBQ.

I bought this last fall, used it a few times last year but more often since the beginning of this year and last I used it on Saturday I heard a loud "Bang". At first I thought it had fell into place as it was not properly installed, but after the heat came down I took a closer look and realized that the tray had cracked, which did the loud bang.  For the price it costs I was expecting something branded Napoleon to last more than a couple months.

I bought this as a companion to my brand-new Freestyle 425. First and foremost, it looks too big for the 425, covering three of the four burners. I would prefer to have a narrow version of it, that covers only two burners.

Also, the tray sits directly on the burners, which looks less efficient and may affect the burners in the long run. If the edges of the tray were a bit larger, they would sit on the sear plate's mount and be positioned an inch above the burners.

But the real problem is that the tray simply cracked in the first use, a few minutes after I turned on the burners to make the charcoal ignite.

Will try to return it, but I am very disappointed with the product quality. I bought a Napoleon EXACTLY because I would be able to have a hybrid grill with the addition of the charcoal tray.
