I've always bought cheap bbq's that only lasted a couple years at most and got tired of having to replace parts and having issues with the BBQ. I've had this one 2 years going on 3 and I haven't had a complaint about it yet. I haven't had to replace any parts and it still looks like I just bought it from the store even after 2 years of heavy use. I also really like the natural gas opposed to the propane I never have to worry about running out of fuel. I know they Napoleon's look like they cost a lot of money but if you really think about it in 10 years I will have probably gone through 3-5 cheap bbq's as to prolly just this one and that's only if it doesn't last longer which in the end would be cheaper and save time not having to assemble a new bbq every few years. Also the rotisserie has made many available meals.

I purchased my LEX485 about two years ago.  Never regretted my buy once.  This BBQ has lived up to its quality and advertised as to be just that.  With regular maintenance cleaning is easy and simply.. tons of accessories available makes it fun and ejoyable to cook on Napoleon grills.

Best BBQ I ever bought!

Replaced a big box store grill with the Napoleon LEX385 and am I ever glad I did. I feel pretty confident grilling anything on the grill before. The seering rack (that I didn't have before) is amazing, never did I think it would make such a difference in the flavor of the meat. Man was I wrong, now I can taste the rich flavors that are trapped inside the meat instead of letting those juices drip into the cavity of the grill and flame away the dish.
The blue ligths around the knobs are just a non value added gimmick to me, but everything else is rock solid. Love the cutting board feature that I use an ice bucket to keep the refreshments cold while cooking.

Can't stop using it

I really like my new grill.  It has lots of heat (more than my old NG grill) and it cooks quickly and evenly .  Nothing I've seen so far has been a concern or an issue.  I was pleased that it was fairly easy to assemble and that all the parts fit well - not always the case with BBQs.  

The construction looks like high quality and I'm expecting to get a long life out of it.  That is a major consideration for me - the 15 year warranty and excellent reviews of Napoleon as a brand were influential in my choice - as well as the fact that it does a nice job of cooking!

Happy with Perfomance and Construction

I really like our Napoleon 485. My previous BBQ was a cheap retail brand model which was ok but took the decision to invest in higher spec and quality. The surface area is very large and comfortably cooks enough for a party of 10+. The heat coming off is just right in my opinion to allow a nice even cook. The sizzle zone on the side for steaks is amazing. I was dubious with the claims that it would taste any different but it really does - as good as I've had in any flame grilled restaurant. I've also bought the smoking accessory and will get the pizza stone too. Closing the lid and the BBQ turns into an oven but, we've had roast chicken and pork cooked perfectly (pork was on the upper rack, chicken was on a separately purchased stand). 

We probably use 2-3 times a week through the summer and so have got good value from it - for the once a month BBQ'r it may be slightly over the top. 

The lights require a mains power source and also to note we decided to get it professionally cleaned at the end of the summer. The size and amount of use meant our cleaning wasn't enough. But because it does generate tremendous heat it does clean well with a brush after 5 minutes with the lid down on full blast.

I feel like a pro!

I bought this grill about a year ago. So far it has been outstanding. I also bought the the charcoal insert. We love to use that on occasions. This is a high quality grill from top to bottom. I'm glad I Bought a Napoleon over a Weber.

Great Grill!

Love almost everything about this grill. It starts easily and produces even heat with minimal flare-ups. The stainless steel grills are easy to clean and the rear burner makes rotisserie cooking fool proof. There are a few negative things though. they may be a bit nit-picky, but prospective buyers might like to know.
1) I find the left side shelf to be of lower quality that expected and I never use the cutting board/ice tub that is integrated within. 
2) I wish there were integrated utensil hooks on the outside. There are some inside the doors, but that isn't helpful for a basting brush or tongs
3) I find myself using the Infrared side burner less than expected. Partly because I have no trouble getting a good sear from the main grill, and partly because the cast iron grill on the side burner is more difficult to maintain than expected.
4) The LED lights on the knobs to not glow very brightly at all. I wouldn't even mention this except I see that the newer models have much brighter lighting that actually changes color to indicate a burner left on; adding some function to this gimmick.
Even though I spent more time on the negatives than the positives, I 100% recommend this, or a similar, Napoleon grill.

Best grill I ever owned

Bought this about 8 months ago and it has been fairly good. Not to sure about the plastic on the lid or cabinet handles but we will see.Not impressed with the heat, the grill seems to far away from the burners and the side grill will not stay burning if the is any breeze.

Looks great

Within less than 6 months the top grill was all rusted and it was the wrong way( RIP in garbage ) The wheels are way to small, within a year the thermometer died, everything still work kind of OK, the infrared back burner work fine. A lot of money for some cheap parts

Heats up fast, cools off fast. Doesn't retain heat as I'd like and fussy about keeping a consisitent low-moderate temperature. I use a few times/week. Hard to get parts.
