got the unit at half price off.  i raised the lid to fill it with oil and the  lid has issues staying up. i cook outside so it doesn`t stink up the kitchen. good luck keeping the cord to stay plugged in i put a piece of wood under it so it would stay plugged in it heated up about 30 minutes to 350 after i set it at 375 degrees to get it to 350 there was no wind out to remove that issue i had a rivel deep fryer that i had before this unit i want it back it had a cord like this and never came unplugged and the lid had a spring on it to keep it open it only cooks 2 pieces of chicken legs at a time may be it would be good to use for a single person i wouldn`t  bother waistng your money on it.
