This is my second Nesco sealer. I love them. The first one I had for years and after at a least 20 deer and tons of other meats and stuff I can't complain when it started to wear out. I still use the old one for just putting the first seal in the bag.

The Best Vacuum Sealer I've Ever Had.

This is a great vacuum sealer. I originally purchased a Foodsaver, but ended up returning it after 2 weeks. It did not hold a seal when sealing things like brown sugar. Air would come back into the bags after 2 weeks of being sealed. This sealer works like a charm. No air coming back into the bags after sealed, and you can make your own double seal with it. Dont waist your money on Foodsaver. Nesco is so much better. It is also made in America, which means a lot.

GREAT VACUUM SEALER!

I got this to replace a very basic model Rival that I have had for years.  This Nesco has many bells and whistles that you wouldn't expect from  such an inexpensive unit: locking seal cover w/dual release buttons. separate vacuum/seal and seal only buttons. roll storage and bag cutter built-in, cancel button,  canister seal tube canisters not included, etc.

Great unit at any price.

This machine is perfect for keeping frozen food fresh and avoiding freezer burn.  I have bought three of these...one for my home, one for my vacation home and most recently one for my daughter.  These compact machines look great on the counter or store easily away inside a kitchen drawer, pantry or in a rarely used cupboard in the kitchen.  I have both the 11 inch wide and 7 inch wide sealer rolls which are easily switchable when wrapping food as you just set them in the dispenser part, unroll and cut to the desired size.   A steak, hamburger, pork chop or anything can be defrosted easily by setting the package in cool or warm water without any leakage to the meat.  No more throwing away brown looking meat with ice on the outside for me.  I promise you, you will love this nifty kitchen necessity.

Love this product

This is my 2nd item from Nesco: the first one works great, and this one seems to work as advertised as well.  I have learned that buying the cheapest item usually means you get the cheapest in quality, so I went with this middle priced one.  Haven't had any problems using it so far, and hope that is a trend that will continue!

Nesco Vacuum Sealer

I have used this item a couple of times since purchased.  When you just seal a bag it is quite and when you vacuum seal the noise is quieter then the one I had. I like the storage space and the cutter gives me a nice straight cut. Thanks Nesco for a good product at a decent cost.

Less noise when vacuuming

As an older person with arthritis, I find it challenging to snap the lid down prior to vacuum/sealing, etc. I think it's a bad design for anyone with issues with their hands. I think they could have done a better job in securing the lid before operating. As a service to potential buyers, advise them that they may issues in securing the lid snapping in place.

Could not get it to seal.  So frustrating. Cheap made,  feel like it's just plastic
I thought Nesco was a good brand.  Could not get bags to cut even,   I would 
Not recommend.   Not worth the money. I am returning.

Won't  vacuum seal.

Item in process of being returned.  it was missing 2 starter rolls that were supposed to be included.  I have this food sealer already and was just replacing old with the new, so I  would still recommend it.  I will reorder item and hope all is included next time.

Missing Items

Don't know if anyone else has had this issue but I didn't see it in any of the reviews anywhere that I looked at before purchasing. It did absolutely great on my beans and whole Jalapeno peppers. When I started on sliced squash and zucchini, it's a whole different story. I have never considered squash a "wet" produce. I typically wipe them down, dry them and slice. Don't even blanch. This Nesco Deluxe Vacuum Sealer, when vacuuming out the air, vacuums moisture as well. Which is a natural side affect. However, it pulls so much moisture out that it absolutely will not seal. I tried leaving from 3-6 inches of top space. Not any place for the moisture to go, no reservoir in the sealer? Some seamed to seal but were back full of air within 30 minutes. I tried squeezing the slices dry, wiping the bags dry, using new bags, and still no go. Even with the "extended seal" which is supposed to be for wetter foods. Now I am having to just freeze in ziplock bags as in the past. Since it won't do squash, I KNOW that my tomatoes are hopeless. Very disappointed. It is being returned. Now I am trying to find one that will work better.

Won't do Squash or "Wet" foods
