Netgear is the best and I've been using their products for the past 10 years.When my Powerline2000 went out earlier this yr, Netgear set up and registered my out of warranty product and replaced it hassle free.I will only use their products from now on..THANKS NETGEAR!!!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was struggling to find a way to extend my internet to our detached shop/garage located over 120 feet from the house. I plugged a wireless router into each powerline network extender and it worked beautifully after I programmed each router to run on the same network without interfering with one another. So far I'm very pleased.

Impressive!

Easy to use. Just plug both units in. Check to make sure the connect, Attach one to your router or modem. The other unit to your computer, Wifi router, or switch. That easy.

Works As Needed

Device works well. Easy set up. Device blocks grounded use of 2nd plug on wallplate but permits use by non-grounded 2 prong plugs. High cost is prohibitive.

Worth the Investment

I was having connection problems with spotty WiFi and high latency with my upstairs computer and figured I would give this devices a try. It was very easy to set up and I got the rated speed for my internet plan, although I don't know if this devices can reach the speeds it advertises. I only have a 100 Mbps internet plan but it does get 135 Mbps down which is the same as my downstairs wired computer that is hooked up directly to my router. I was also worried I may have problems because I do use alot of electricity especially in the summer but so far I have not noticed any drop in speeds.

Low latency, fast reliable connect.

Why isn't there a 'utility' that works for these units? The utility I just downloaded and installed on Win 10 Pro, does not detect the powerline units. Ver D 3.1.0.4
Even TP-Link have a utility that works for their powerline units, and I can even 'see' the Netgear units on that utility... but can't deploy or change anything... (like the name)...

Missing Utility

This is a very simple way to provide internet access to a device that is out of range of the primary router. I plugged it in and it worked. However, in the process, it disabled my Wi-Fi. I could have one or the other but not both, and nothing in the included documentation nor on Netgear's web site offered a solution. 

So I returned the PLP-2000 and am looking for a more expensive mesh system.

Worked, but disabled WiFi

I just got these. I installed one of these in my son's bedroom and was able to try the other end in several different locations (all of which if I understand my house's wiring decently) don't seem to be too for to the circuit breakers.  In one location I was getting 5-10 Mbps (yes, megaBITS). Two other locations were about 50 Mbps. After a fair bit of trial and error I was able to find a location that gets about 160-180 Mbps. Unfortunately this isn't any better than when using WiFi for that device (usually 200-220 Mbps).  So they aren't exactly plug and play and they seem to require quite a lot of trial and error to get even half way decent performance.

However, the biggest problem is that even though it's plug through.
1) The darn thing is so large it mostly covers the 2nd outlet -- so it actually uses up
    both outlets
2) The plug through seems very tight and I had a really, really hard time trying to
   get another device plugged into the plug through outlet.

Also I figured this might be the case and was prepared for it but others might not be aware that if you use both ethernet outlets the bandwidth is shared between them. So if one alone gets 200 Mbps, if they both operate at the same time they'll each get about 100 Mbps.

If it was just poor performance I would have given it 2 starts but the fact that its plug through but covers up both outlets is just a really poor design.
