I'm a serious streetwalker so I'm always looking for shoes that are going to bear through the elements. This is a tennis shoe and has a leather upper and solid sole. Usually, I like a shoe that is soo oversized I can replace the insole with a rubber flip-flop, which's the most support available for streetwalking. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed with New Balance's shoes of recent due to the way they've building their shoes with a 'twisted' model, whereas the toe ends up pointed as opposed to good and square...

I really like the 696 - they are lightweight and airy, great for playing Pickleball outdoors in the summer. I play 5 times a week so the shoes get about 6 months before the soles wear down. Sometimes this model is hard to find so if you like the fit and shoe get a second pair. I been wearing NB for a long time(I am a 4e) with an AT pair, a walking pair (my go to for vacation/tours and the 696 court shoes.

Lightweight Pickleball Shoes

These are my husband's favorite court shoes for pickleball! Several of his friends love them as well, sadly we believe they are no longer going to be available. The are great because they come in a wide width and are so comfortable. We bought 5 pairs for my husband to have as back ups in case they disappear üòû

Awesome court shoes

NB products have been great and started using them in the 70's.  Because of surgery I have been forced into needing a wider shoe and in this case I found the shoe I liked on your website.  As it turns out, in spite of great service and product I will need to return them.  What is the procedure for doing this as it is the first time I have purchased from your site.

Great, but didn't fit, too narrow

The shoe itself was fine.  Unfortunately, it was a little small for me.  I normally need an extra wide width and the EE did not work.  New Balance's EEEE would probably be perfect.  The shoe is nicely made, though, and seems to provide good support with very light weight.  Joe's New Balance Outlet quickly handled the return and refund with no questions asked.  I hope to do business with them again.

Comes ready to wear right out of the box.  I'm a 5.5 player that needs a shoe to feel comfortable and worry-free. The 696 allows for lateral free movement without rollover. It holds a grip on all types of hard court surfaces.  When split stepping, it plants a firm starting point towards the direction you choose. There are times I arrived so early to the ball, I actually thought I was playing on clay! Aas long as NewBalance can continue making the 696, It will be my go-to shoe.

696v4 is a great, if not the best, shoe !!

A great show for Pickleball, inside or outside courts. This was the fourth pair of 696 that I have bought for playing Pickleball. The shoe gives great traction on each of the courts I have played on. I will continue to buy this style as long as it is available.

A proven style.

I'm very pleased with my purchase.  The shoe is lightweight yet still has solid cushioning and support, including all important lateral mobility.  I especially like how light the shoe is; helps prevent excessive fatigue late in a match in the summer heat and humidity.

Great shoe for clay court tennis

Good fit and very comfortable after two weeks. Feel there is good grip and start.  A bit softer feel than the 1006 I have worn. I'll be rotating them as I play 3-5xweekly and like airing them out. My expectations are for them to be comfortable and supportive until there might be a west issue after some years.

A True to Size, Very Comfortable, Court Shoe.

I love the color combination of sky blue and white. While subtle it stands out at the same time. New Balance has been my trusted source for tennis shoes. For the price, this is the best you can get. I love it. I would definitely recommend this to any serious tennis player.

No-nonsense shoe

No part of this shoe was to the inside of my ankle. It's like the maker of the last hadn't seen a human foot.  Took them back and got a different pair that fit feet.
