Love these shoes -- they're the only ones I can wear consistently without foot pain.  I have very wide feet and have custom orthotic insoles for additional arch support; I need a women's 7.5 in the 4E width.  I wore these every day on our 7-week trip to Italy when we were walking between 8-12 miles/day.  NO FOOT PAIN!!  I have two complaints:  These shoes frequently go out of stock in this width and it takes forever to get them back in so I always try to keep an extra pair on hand.  Can you please release the 4E more often?  ALSO, I WISH THESE CAME IN BLACK FOR WOMEN!!  In all black, these shoes could almost double as dress shoes when wearing long pants.

If these shoes fit and my feet didn't hurt still Id have given 5 stars but that's a me problem not a new balance problem maybe. I have been wearing sandals and slippers due to inflammation in my toes and foot brought on by Rheumatoid Arthritis. I had tried on so many ""wide width"" shoes even other new balance styles in wide width and they were uncomfortable in the toe box. These I ordered in 4E width and can't believe I can actually move my toes while wearing it. Plus the stretchy material of the forefoot eliminates any possibility of the inner seams causing discomfort in what would be an otherwise comfortable shoe. Might buy a second pair in case they get discontinued.

I like the shoes. I've been ordering wide lately as medium feels a little tight in some brands.  These are a little too wide but so far so good.  I'm afraid they may stretch and in that case will be too loose.  There's plenty of room for the toes to wiggle.  Over all I'm happy with the 847

The 847

I have purchased this shoe many times over the years.  Unfortunately, the latest style -v4- is not up to par.   The shoe seems shorter than before and I have no or very little toe room at the top of my toes - it feels as if my toes are pushing against the front edge of the shoe.   Also, prior you always used rounded laces.  These laces are flat and feel silky.  They are also shorter than the old ones and harder to tie tight enough.

This product has been excellent up to now but...

I have tried these shoes in 2 different sizes, and have the 3rd on the way. According to the size chart, I wear a 9, but I got a 9.5, anyway, since that's what I usually wear. I was extremely excited when I tried them on, because they were actually wide enough (not just ""they probably won't hurt too much"" wide, but comfortable wide). So, it was very disappointing to discover that my toes reached the end. I tried a half size up, and they were still not quite long enough. I had to go a full size above my normal length, but they're very comfortable once you get the right length.

Short, but wide enough

I have worn the same size of shoe for many years; I ordered my usual size. These shoes are too small!  It seems one shoe is shorter and it hurts my toe when I wear them for any length of time. I wish I could returm them but I've worn them so nothing to be done now!  Otherwise they are a great shoe.

Run Small

I was so disappointed with these shoes. Finally a pair of interesting colors in a 9.5 Narrow. But the toe box was too short and the toe box material was not smooth but rather kind of rippled.  I always wear a 9.5 Narrow in NB so bummer that these were too short.

Too short; odd material on uppers

The shoe is too short.  The front part of it rubs against my big toe.  I ordered 3 different pairs of NB walking or running shoes so i could have one that works for me.  Two were styles I had ordered before and been happy with.   I have experienced this shortness problem w/ each of them.  I've been buying NB sneakers for at least 20 years and typically buy a new pair each year, because i walk about 35 miles/week and they lose their spring after all of that.  I've always had a good experience.  Unfortunately, i'm going to send all 3 pairs back and will have to start looking for a brand that fits.  The end of a very positive and longlasting relationship!  :(

i would not buy this product again.

I've purchased 847 for walking for many years now. I like their comfort and the fact they come in a size 12 for women. The vol 4 are once again too short. This happened for volume 2 as well. When vol 3 came out, l called the store in Rehoboth De to see if they had my size to try on and I asked, are they running true to size? They did, they were and I was able to actually purchase my sneakers in a store. My size is hard to find, please when volume 5 is engineer pay attention to actual size details.

Too short

I currently wear NB shoes and thought I was safe to buy the same size...wrong! These shoes are HUGE. I called my local NB store and the guy was NOT friendly or helpful and gave me a really hard time. After providing him answers to his questions, he reluctantly said I could bring the shoes in for a return ""Only if you are exchanging them for the EXACT same pair"" he said in a scolding way...I don't get it?? Just weird.

Same size as current NB pair but these are way too big
