Nice picture, great purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great dashcam with mobile app capabilities. The install was pretty straight forward; it comes with a windshield mount that has adhesive backing and one that is a suction cup (I used the adhesive one). The actual camera snaps on and off the windshield mount via a really strong magnetic connection to make it easy to take on and off. The camera has lots of options and settings including choosing between 1, 2 or 3 minute recording intervals (this makes it easier to send the clips if needed later). It automatically comes on when you turn your vehicle on and begins recording. It also auto shuts off within a minute once the vehicle is off. The dashcam also comes with a host of smartphone capabilities via an app including Alexa voice integration.

The 522GW includes a couple new features that are worth the upgrade, like the Emergency SOS Response and Alexa built-in. It also features 1440p HD recording with a polarizing lens. Thanks to the built-in Alexa, I can play music, place calls, or get directions without removing my hands from the wheel or my eyes from the road. Dash cams allow you to have footage that can provide proof in the unfortunate event of a traffic accident, but these added features make the dash cam useful in other ways. The installation is easy, and the recordings are a good resolution.

Great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picture quality is good and easy to connect to app on phone but that's just about sums up the good part.  Downloading a video to the phone via app is a hassle, takes forever and keeps loosing connection. Cannot keep it mounted on windshield in hot weather as the temperature inside the car will more than likely go over 120 degrees especially if the car is parked in direct sunlight and then the dash cam's screen will go completely white. A quick google search will reveal this problem and after a while, will keep dash cam useless.

Good but mostly useless

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] having issues with this device. it constantly turns on and shuts off....stops recording while driving. peice of junk and unreliable. will seek a refund if the seller ever surfaces.

First, the touch screen is more like a touch touch touch, ok now it gets it screen. Second, after spending 20 or so minutes setting it up and learning how to use it, I turned it on only to have it freeze and sputter at the Nextbase splash screen. It would not turn off or progress. The only thing I could think of was to take out the memory card. This allowed me to turn it off. When I turned it back on again, it would go on for one second and then turn off every time. Third, the memory card is supposed to be installed and then be pushed in a bit more and eject itself. This never happened. I had to use an exacto knife to gently pry it to come out. All in all, what a piece of junk functionality wise. I did however like it when it was functioning correctly. So i returned and ordered another one hoping this one was a lemon. Coincidently, the return address on the package sent was from some "return center". Product appeared new, but that seemed suspicious.

it has faulty battery inside, i got it hardwired and its supposed to have a battery in it,  it is completely dead whenever the truck goes off
