We have a lot of muddy spots in our back yard and my husband and kids are constantly bringing dried mud into the house. It gets stuck in the grooves of their shoes then falls off all over the place. This mat alleviates that problem. The way the mat is designed with rows that stick up to allow you to scrub the dirt off the bottom of your shoes is genius! Great product! I highly recommend it!

Great Mud Mat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing you will notice about the mat is the extremely strong rubber smell. Even after leaving it outside a couple weeks, the mat still smells strong of rubber when near it.
This is a heavy duty mat. The rubber is strong and should hold up for a long time. The brown fibers are strong and do a really good job of getting leaves, pine needles, dirt or any other partials off the bottom of your shoe. It looks like overtime, they will wear down and not stand up like they are now. But so far, with a lot of use, they are holding up well.
My complaint about this mat is the section between the brown fibers is a gap in the rubber. This holds rain water, or dirt or leaves or anything else. It would be better if the bottom were open so the rain and debris can run through. Since the bottom of the mat is solid, when it rains and there is water under the mat it remains wet. You have to move the mat once and a while so it can dry underneath.
The mat size is typical for an entrance mat and I have enjoyed not having little pine needles and dirt tracked into my entry. The mat does work.
